So, I had this dingy desk.  I know it belonged to my mother, and it may have belonged to her grandfather before that.  The point is, it's old, and it has been in the family for a while.  And it was looking its age.  I didn't want to paint it; thus, I hit upon an idea.  I would create a look that suited me and was in honor of my mother who got me started on crafting.  She passed away years ago, but I think she would love this desk!

The bottom left drawer is Alice in Wonderland, middle left is colors!, top left is pieces of old singer manuals, middle is a bit of everything, top right is more colors, middle right is Trixie Belden, bottom right and top are a collage of things that are either sentimental to me or just interesting. 









And, a close up of the bottom edge; I put a tape measure on it so that I can measure hassle free!



Comments and criticisms welcome!  This was my first try.  I hope to find a chair that will fit in that desk that I can decorate to match!

This is my first time sharing a project (and I sincerely hope this is the correct forum!)  My husband and his friends are avid beer drinkers (or were before they all moved away), and they used to collect all of the caps.  When our containers started overflowing, I began pondering what things I can make with bottle caps.  These are the bracelets I made.  I also made rings and magnets, but I might post pictures of those later!

They were a lot of fun to make!  They are a little bulky, but I don't really mind.  I have come up with a good way to make them less scratchy on the back.  Any suggestions?
