1  Re: Woodland Creature Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by dandylionfluff on: July 09, 2010 09:19:59 AM
I received my goodies yesterday from Ollieorange Smiley
There is a AWESOME t-shirt in my favorite color, green with a foxy fox on it!
A set of 4 super cool coasters with cute lil animals and trees made out of tiles with cork on the back.
A glass pendant with a deer and a butterfly
A glass magnet with a tree!
also she put some cute little wooden puzzles in there for my kids but the kids ran off with them and started painting and putting them together Smiley

Sorry about the poor quality photos, my new camera and I aren't getting along very well.

2  pink haired waldorf doll and kitty doll are good friends! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by dandylionfluff on: July 14, 2005 09:25:35 AM
i made the pink haired waldorf  doll for my 1 year old
and my 7 year old (who claims she is half cat) wanted a kitty doll.  Smiley

they are both made out of recycled t-shirts from the thrift store.
total costs for both dolls was less than $5. cant beat that!!!
some day i will make clothes for them!
i used the magic cabin pattern that a friend gave to me. it was really fun and easy. i am going to make some more. one for myself!

*****************************tutorial*********************
ok, i am not so good at explaining things, but here goes!

*first, get your supplies ready

20 gage wire,
tissue paper (remember to save this when you get gifts!)
acrylic medium (modge podge or one of those other decoupage products "might" work- no guarantee)
and a crummy old paint brush (it might get ruined)
and wire cutters/needle-nosed pliers are handy

*next, bend the wire into the object of your desire!

*then, tear strips of the tissue paper- and put a glob of the acrylic medium on it and "paint" both sides and fold it over the wire frame.

do this with a bunch of strips until your wire frame is covered and there are no single layers of tissue left.

let it dry- make sure it cant get stuck to anything while its drying!!!!

*finally, hang in window with all your other junk, er um treasures!

ok, i know this is a little heart and not a lamp shade, BUT now that you know the way you can cover anything-even 3D wire forms this way.
i hope this helps. feel free to ask questions and if you make anything post pics! id love to see Cheesy
