love your work! absolutely amazing use of light and such crisp details! i have a question for you ... do you use any programs to enhance your photos? or do the photos come out like that with the use of your lights? Thanks by the way for sharing your equipment and more importantly your photos! I agree ... lots of talent for such a young person.
It's a bit of both. I do use Adobe Photoshop CS3 to do some "enhancements" when and where it's needed (i.e. unsharp mask, curves, dodge/burn, liquify, color balance), but the lighting happens with the use of lights. Ha.
I love your photos, they're very powerful and each one in its own unique way. If I may ask, what make of camera do you use and lighting set up?
As of right now... I shoot with a Canon 30D, and my primary lens is a Canon 28-135mm IS USM. I'm looking to buy a much wider lense though.
For lighting... I have a little 1500watt Smith Victor thrifty kit (3 lights at 500watts each, w/ white umbrelllas.) that I purchased a while ago. They were very inexpensive. ($200) I'm not very experienced with studio lighting, so I didn't want to buy some very expensive set. Once I do this more and improve at it, then I'll upgrade to a nicer set of lights. (: In some photos, (like the photo of the boy above), I used my Canon Speedlight 430ex flash. I like to fire it remotely, or with a "off-camera" 3ft cord.
