Does anyone have a TUT or a link to how to make swiffer covers or other cleaning projects? What about homemade cleaner recipes? If you have em would you post em?

This is great! Ive needed a little push to knit a few grocery bags, and I cant tell you how many times Ive googled 'recycled' craft! I would love to have a forum where we all crafted green and proud together. Rock!

Most of the time it is less expensive to buy from your LYS. You will save on shipping costs. Oh well, ya gotta do what you gotta do.

My lizard ridge is going very well. I'm knitting mine in long sections of 14 pattern repeats so that I will have less sewing at the end, and so my Afghan is just a little bit longer than the pattern calls for. (I wanted mine to be more of a bedspread)
The only problem I'm having right now is acquiring Keuryon at my LYS. Ive gone to 2 stores so far that mostly carry dark colorways of the Keuryon. However all the stores Ive been to had a huge selection of Silk Garden.
Id never felt Silk Garden until last week, well after I started my Lizard Ridge. I have to admit it is a lot softer than Keuryon. If I could start over I think Id go with Silk Garden because it is more plentiful, softer and has a little bit of shimmer to it. Oh well, live & learn.

Im curious, are there a few place that the panels arent sewn together? I thought I saw some holes where the color of the sofa was poking through... or is that just the photo?
I HATE sewing seams when Im finished knitting. Ive been working my blanket in long rows, so when Im done Ill only have 4 long pieces to sew together. Im a little nervous about this. Let me know if you had any problems with the finishing.

I casted on for this project (again) today and it went swimingly. I didnt bother with the wraps like you suggested and I had no problems. I love the way the colors are a bit of a surprise as you knit. I will post pics of my first panel soon. (However Im considering just knitting long panels instead of 20 so individual ones)

Those all look great. The PF one is very creative. I think the beatles one would be funnier if it was a syringe instead of a gun... you know cuz rumor has it their not singing about a gun. Anyho, they look fantastic.

Cats arent assholes. They are kind & compassionate companion animals. But they are animals. Natural cat behavior involves clawing to condition their nails. Cats have no concept that certian items are ok to claw on and others arent. Your cat isnt trying to annoy you, your cat is just doing cat stuff. By understanding normal cat behavior you can modify area that they find pleasing to satisfy destructive behavior.
Please talk about your cats like you love them dearly. If cats knew what love was Im sure they would say they loved you.

There is a book that will answer all your cat questions and fix all your cat problems, Im not kidding. Its called FROM THE CAT'S POINT OF VIEW by Gwen Bohnekamp.

Please do not assume that your cats bad behavior is happening because your cat is vendictive. Cats are innocent creatures that act out on their natural instincts, instincts that we as humans can only relate to in human terms.

If you do not want your cat to claw on something cover it in tin foil or cheese cloth. Cats HATE the feel of these materials on their claws and will steer clear.

Please read the recommended book. It will help you put an end to any unwanted behavior and maybe even help you train your cat to do a few tricks.
Good luck!
