3  Hand made sketchbook in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by MusicalClovers on: February 13, 2011 09:12:45 AM
Okay...So i've never made a book before. So with some online help this is what I came up with-

Here's how I did it!

Getting started...I cut the cardboard about a centimeter bigger than the pages and just cut the spine to the width I thought would work, I didn't measure it.

I sewed the pages together. Or binded, whichever you'd like to call it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

Gluing a paisley fabric to the covers!

I decided glue wasn't enough. I didn't want my book to fall apart so I reinforced with some masking tape!

Tea break!

Added some detail to the end pages

Of course I had to make something to decorate the front so I tried my hand at embroidery. I've never really embroidered before, or really payed attention to the right way to do it. I get too impatient for that sometimes so I just fudged it and did it how I thought would work. The trim is just some lacy ribbon I cut in half and glued to the ends. He looks a little funny...but... you could just say that's how I meant for it to look. lol.

Added some ribbon to the spine (a good way to cover up the imperfections Cheesy)

A tad sloppy...

thanks for looking!  Grin
