Thanks, and yep, I knitted her sweater. I started with a vague idea of what I wanted it to look like, and then just fitted it to her body as I went along. It's nice because the neckline is wide enough that I can slip it over her hips.

I finally posted the cupcake doll I made for my sister!

Her post is here:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=413507.0

(Please excuse the overexposure in the picture. Her hair isn't really that bright a blue. Tongue)

As soon as I saw ghilie's Cupcake Doll pattern, I knew I wanted to make one. I love the look, and the pattern is super simple.

I made this doll for my sister for Christmas (I work slowly, so I have to start early Tongue).

The only change I made to the pattern was to make the ears into more pointed, elf ears. If I did it over again, I would probably make the ears bigger, so the point is more noticeable.

The doll and her skirt and sock boots are all completely hand-sewn (I made her sock boots by cutting off the cuff of an old sock). For her hair, I used the knitted wig cap and yarn hair method.

I knitted her sweater and underwear, making up the designs on the fly.

I hand painted her eyes after gouging out the brown color the eyes were originally. There is still a little bit of the brown left in the eyes, but I like how they turned out. Cheesy My sister also loves the doll, so at least that's one Christmas present done!

I took part in the One Small Hobbit Thing Swap earlier this year. My partner, Murple listed Smaug as one of her favorite characters from the book, and "Never laugh at live dragons" as one of her favorite quotes. Smaug is one of my favorites too, so I thought I'd make a hoop with him as the subject.  Smiley

It is 7 inches across. I drew the dragon design, and did the lettering based off of some Tolkien-style fonts I found off the internet.

Here is a closeup of the head and fire. I used satin stitch, back stitch, and a chaotic kind of seed stitch.

I wanted to get the gem encrusted effect, so I beaded his belly (leaving the small weak spot allows him to be killed later Wink).

Lastly, here's a closeup of the quote. I loved being in the Hobbit swap, and having the chance to stitch a cool image like this. Thanks for looking! Cheesy

It just makes me so happy that he makes you happy! Grin LOL about having him avoid touching your living dead dolls, and I find it kind of hilarious that he had a thumb in his pocket (even if it was a fake thumb). Wink
