Whoa, that atomic energy lab is COOL! I can't believe it's flat. It looks so dimensional.

I received two incredible HP cards this week!

First up from pottermouth, a very sweet Burrow card. Who doesn't want to live with the Weasleys in the Burrow?!

Then when you hold it up to the light....

Clouds and grass! Love this card so much, thank you pottermouth!

Next up from stitch and stones, the patronus of one of my favorite characters, Luna!

Isn't it pretty? The back is such a pretty shade of blue, and I love the flowing lines. I really love it! Thank you stitch and stones!

I received a couple of really great cards this weekend Smiley

First from elliot_anne, this beautiful little mushroom card for my woodland whimsy theme:

The colors are so rich and vibrant. Just gorgeous!

Next, from spikefan for my starry skies theme, this adorable little house on a hill:

I love the different patterns in the hills so much!

Thanks so much to both of you! These are much treasured Smiley

(I really hope the mushroom card shows the correct orientation. I've rotated it endlessly to get it right)

There are some seriously awesome cards here! Pottermouth well knows that I'm super jealous of that cute little mushroom guy.

I have received some amazing cards in the past few days. Here they are:

First up from kosmicgirl for my friendly yeti theme:

I mean how sweet does this guy look?? I wish we were best buddies.

From SpazzyBrat, she combined 2 of my themes: Big Hero 6 and stained glass and I LOVE it!!

Baymax!!! Smiley

Next up from rockingbearranch for my The IT Crowd theme:

Hysterical Denholm Reynholm card! I immediately had to watch this episode once I got the card. Fantastic!

Here is the second card I sent to SpazzyBrat that she coudn't upload, a mandala:

And a non-glare of my bird card:

Project Name: Doctor Who Lantern
Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=438673.0
Brief Description: I made this for my partner in the Be AWESOME swap. Half of this project was probably waiting time. First I had to outline the image in a black paint and wait for it to dry. Then trimmed the lines with my Xacto knife and filled in with the colored paint. The paint then had to dry again for 24 hours and then be baked for 30 minutes and allowed to cool in the oven for hours. Repeat for 3 more panels. I was tired of waiting!  Cheesy

6  Doctor Who Lantern in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by AugustBell on: March 29, 2015 08:36:51 AM
I made this Doctor Who lantern for my partner meleriffic in the Be AWESOME (Redux) swap. I saw a Tardis lamp on her Pinterest and decided almost immediately that I wanted to make a faux stained glass lantern. I've only dabbled in glass painting once before in the past, so there was quite a bit of experimentation for this project. After trying several paints I settled on the Martha Stewart line of glass paints. Another challenge was finding the right lantern with removable glass panes. Once I found the right lantern I measured the glass panels and went to work finding the right imagery for each side. In the end I decided on the DW logo, the Tardis, 11th doctor imagery, and a Dalek. Funnily enough the Dalek turned out to be my favorite panel of all:

And unlit:

I put the DW logo on the smallest front panel, which is the door of the lantern:

The Tardis:

The 11th Doctor's fez and bowtie:

I also used a Gallery Glass white paint that dries clear, allowing you to glob it on and smear it around giving it the traditional stained glass look.

Thanks for looking!

I'm so glad you love it meleriffic!

That lantern is so creatively clever!  If you can get a pic of it in semi-dark with the LED candle, I sure would like to see it!  Or does it have it's own thread with such a photos?

Here's a photo I took before I sent it with the candle inside:

I'll be doing a project post later Smiley

Wow, so many awesome projects posted today! I love those wands, and that quilt is truly gorgeous!

I received something AWESOME myself today!!! From meleriffic,

My very own Luna poppet!! When I found out that meleriffic made poppets, I was secretly wishing for a Harry Potter character poppet, especially Luna, and she delivered!

She even has her cork necklace and radish earrings!

She is so pretty! And BEST of all she made Luna's lion hat  Cheesy

Thank you so much meleriffic, she will be very cherished!

@ blu, I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your mom.

@ curiousfae, I'm glad you like it! That one has always made me smile.

I received some really great cards myself! First up from curiousfae for my woodland theme...some adorable little birdies!

I love all the different patterns, and that it looks like it's made on notebook paper Smiley

Next up from Susie Apple, THREE "see inside" cards!

A set of monsters with living rooms in their mouths!! How awesome are these?!

Thank you both so much! I love all of them!
