2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Three piece outfit for Final on: January 06, 2012 07:55:29 AM
hello bluwave,
I am a textiles student at ECU, but have not taken a construction course yet. However I am very interested in garment making. I have to say that I like two of the three pieces that this outfit consists of. I like the detail on the jacket, and it is a nice crop. is this reversible, or did you reverse it to show the inside? I would probably buy that jacket if i had the right body for it. I wish the waistline on the skirt was a little more asymmetrical. The shirt, while I am fond of the color choices (which could maybe even be switched), I am not fond of the neckline. it seems to me it would become irritating with on side of the neck up higher than the other, even though shirt sits on both shoulders. maybe you could pull the side with the higher neckline down on your shoulder to keep the asymmetrical visuals.

overall, i do like the outfit. i think you did well on your final.

Thanks for the comments. The skirt waist was to be more assymetrical but that didn't happen. The jacket is not reversible, I wanted to show the lining. I agree with your opinion on the top.

I ended up with a A- for my final.

Thanks! The skirt had given me some issues with the waistband, but all in all it turned out well. I will keep you all updated with my grade as soon as it is in.

I think that this is a wonderful gesture! I know I am late on the conversation here, but as an animal lover and cat owner I would love something like this. My best friend lost one of her cats a few weeks ago, he was 16 and would be estactic and tearful at the same time for someting like this. I am glad that she loved it. You did a great job and looks so lifelike.

These are beautiful, I love the patches. You did a nice job with these dresses!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Three piece outfit for Final on: December 19, 2011 02:41:15 PM
Here is my completed final. It took me little under a week to put together. I designed the outfit from draft to finished construction. I have to say this is one of my best, despite the tight waist. The three pieces are a cropped raglan jacket made from Peacock fabric with purple contrasting band, Asymmetrical boat neck top made with teal knit and the skirt is an asymmetrical high waist panelled pencil skirt made from cotton ticking.

I am waiting to hear back about my grade for this outfit, but I am pretty sure I did pretty well.
