141  Re: Fashion Doodling Anyone? in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by bluwave06 on: May 26, 2007 07:19:25 AM
I just found this thread today and love all the drawings. So I thought I have some drawings, even though they are not the best. These are when I first started drawing designs.

This one is a more recent one (as you can see I love to draw my designs on dressforms):
This one came to me in a dream (weird I kno):

142  Flowy Hippie Style Shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by bluwave06 on: May 18, 2007 09:47:32 AM
Haven't posted anything in a while, so here is my new shirt I made, it is from a 1970's pattern that I have. The pink material is a piece of scrap that I found in my local walmart reduced bin. The back was to be longer but i ran out of the pink. The sleeves are cut square, like the handkerchief skirt. I plan on putting lace around the neckline being I don't like how it turned out from my serger.  :oPlease excuse the mess, That is my little crafting corner Shocked
So here it is:

143  50's/60's Halter Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by bluwave06 on: May 07, 2007 11:40:25 AM
So here is my entry (had to wait til last minute). The halter part is inspired by the 50's and the pattern of the dress is the sixties. There is a green zipper on the side. (Sorry for the picture quality and wrong date, digital camera batteries were going dead)

144  High Heel Cell Phone Holder in CHALLENGE 18 ENTRIES by bluwave06 on: May 01, 2007 08:40:04 AM
Here is my entry, a high heel shoe cell phone holder. This was inspired by the plastic ones that you can find in stores.  I used orange felt, cardboard for the structure, pink satin, ribbon, paper star, lots of tape and last but not least a lot of glue. I first made a pattern then cut it out of cardboard. Taped the cardboard, cut out the felt, glued the felt and satin to the structure and added the finishing touches. Sorry, I did have pictures while working on it but they got deleted! Sorry for any blurriness!
Here is the Front:

Finally a close up of the detail:

Here is my first try at making clothes for my 7 year old neice. It is a peach and green stretch knit dress with shorts attached underneath. All edges are serged. The back is a small v shaped neckline while the front is a scoop neckline. Sorry for the picture quality, I used my computer camera.

                Thanks for looking.

148  Drawing Tote **Img. Heavy** in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by bluwave06 on: April 18, 2007 02:45:18 PM
I guess you would call this a tote. For a while now I have been wanting to make this, I set the design to paper then made the pattern pieces. I plan on making more for sewing, crochet/knitting and possibly one for my dressmaking studies. This is my first one so there are some flaws. Please let me know what you think.
Sorry for the big pics
Here it goes: There are four panels and zipper opening. This one when all opened measures 56" x 20", when closed measures 14" x 20".

1/2 opened:

Close up of rose embroidery done by machine:

First panel: 4 pockets

Second panel: 3 pencil/pen holders ea. holds about 20 pencils

Third panel: sketch pad holder

Last panel: pouch with closure

I still need to add the handles.
Thanks for looking!

I just found this site: http://www.modestprom.com/modestmakeovers/info.htm. If you scroll down to the first picture, I think that type of sleeve might be nice (there is even directions on how to do the sleeve).
What about a handkerchief style skirt for the bottom like this (like a circle skirt but cut square):
