1  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Ohhh Maaagic! Watch my container garden transform! TONS OF PICS on: July 31, 2011 05:15:58 PM
I love to garden, it makes me happy.  I live in Michigan which means I only get a limited time to garden outside.  I try to make the very most of it.  My husband would say I go overboard...but what does he know?!?   Wink
I was super excited to see this challenge.  I've never participated in a challenge and a garden one seems right up my alley.
So sit back, relax, and watch my container garden magically transform!

Here are some close ups of my veggies and some of the flowers:

My bead sun catcher was attacked by cucumber vines!

Creepy Crawlies!

And here is a view of the whole backyard :

And one more of the container garden:

And finally, here's some bounty from a day last week.  There's kale, cucumber, zuchinni, summer squash, eggplant, peppers, basil, chamomile, and lavender.  Can you spot them all?

Thanks for looking!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Curtains curtains everywhere! on: July 28, 2011 07:00:35 PM
I have made just about every curtain in my house.  I try to find fabric on super sale at joann's or hobby lobby otherwise it is almost more cost effective just to buy them at Wal-mart. Is that a cardinal sin to say on Craftster?  I'm still pretty new at this...shun me if you must  Wink

This is my bathroom Valance.  The ribbon matches my shower curtain (which I bought...at Wal-Mart!).  I loved sewing the pick ups, it turned out really nice!

This is our bedroom curtains.  It was tedious to make them...I hate MEASURING!  But in the end they turned out pretty nice.

They look wonky in the picture but I promise they aren't in real life!

Thanks for taking a look :-)
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Bachelorette Party Tank Top on: July 28, 2011 06:54:01 PM
My girlfriend just got married and I made her a tank top to wear to the airport for her honeymoon.  It is freezer paper stenciled with bead detail.  I forgot to get a finished picture of the back but you get the idea...

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Mobile for Baby's Room on: July 28, 2011 06:50:14 PM
My best girlfriend just had her first little one.  I went crazzzy making little Ellie all kinds of stuff for her shower.  This is a mobile I made for her room.  It matches her bedding.  She lays in her little crib and looks at the beads already!

Here is mama opening the mobile at the shower!

Sorry for the poor quality pictures, my camera was acting up  Angry
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Freezer Paper Addict! on: July 26, 2011 11:28:21 AM
Okay, once I discovered Freezer Paper Stencils I've pretty much been addicted.  In fact, addicted might not be a strong enough word.  Obsessed?  Entranced?  Fanactical?
I warn you, the following projects are extremely wrinkly.  This is because I HATE DOING LAUNDRY and leave it in the hamper once it is dry for at least a week before folding.  Hence the many wrinkles.  Oh, I also HATE IRONING.  Yes, I do look homeless most of the time  Tongue
This is a Banksy design that I absolutely love.  Wish I hadn't done the sleeve though...

This is from the Showtime Show Dexter which I am obsessed with.  We named our Dog Dexter if that is any indication...

This is from a family trip to Disney.  I MADE my whole family wear the shirts.  Most were good sports although my Bro-in-law was none too happy.  I swear he walked about 10 feet behind us just so he didn't have to be seen with the matching shirts.

Thanks for looking  Grin
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Babies and Dogs Make the Best of Friends! on: July 26, 2011 11:17:59 AM
So this was the summer of babies for my friends and I have been making a ton of stuff for showers and births.  This is for a friend that has a HUGE sheep dog that is pretty much awesome and is named Mr. Belvedere (which is, in itself, pretty awesome!).  Anywho, Mr. Belvedere looooves the new baby and I'm confident that she will love him too.  You know, once she can lift her head and such.  I made this little onsie by stencling the letters with freezer paper and the pic of Mr. B is an iron on transfer.
I stiched the edges of the onsie with embroidery floss for a little more pizazz.

I also made a little hat to match since I'm pretty sure babies love hats  Wink

This is my first post...even though I've been a creeper almost daily for a while.  Let me know what you think!  Thanks!
