Lots of beautiful beaded charms, a lovely dangling beaded swirl, 2 pairs of earrings, 2 rings, a bracelet and necklace set, a super-cute painting of the worm with a cup of tea (my cat likes it too!), two white shirts (one that says 'Labyrinth' and one with Jareth!), and a felt worm with plushie/pincushion stuck with 2 amazing pins! Thanks again! I love it all.

I bought some patterns from the etsy shop by jpolka, "Wunderkammer: a handmade cabinet of curiosity" (http://www.etsy.com/shop/jpolka) and made some awesome sea creatures! The patterns were very well written and easy to follow and have room for making it your own. I also bought mushroom patterns that I haven't used yet, but I am excited for them! the designs are more realistic than other amigurumi amimals I have seen, which I like.

This is Jules and Verne the squids. One is pink and the other is red and their heads are shaped different. The yarn is thin and soft, I am not sure what type exactly; it was from a garage sale. They are lovers. (Squid in Love pattern)



Mr. Octopus does not have a name. He is made from purple cotton yarn and has curly arms. (Voluptuous Ocotopus pattern)



Finally, I made lots of jellyfish. The first is from a rainbow cotton. I put a little glitter on it and it's name is Microbrain after the inorganic life form they found on star trek (tng, Home Soil, s.1 ep.18, yeah I'm a nerd..). The next is purple from the same cotton yarn as the octopus, it has lonnng appendages. (Jellyfish pattern) The third was made as I was watching star trek and didn't want to get up to look at the pattern (lazy nerd), so I made it up and the top is a bit strange looking. Some of the tendrils are white and some are tan and I made more than the original pattern called for. The yarn was wool instead of cotton so it is lighter and lays differently. The curlys in the center I made from a textured purple yarn I had.







Also, this is my cat playing with a toy I made for her. It was going to be a mouse, but when I started to fill it with catnip, she got excited and wouldn't let me finish. So now it is a stange legless, earless thing with a long tail.





The squids and the octopus were sent to be part of a silent auction benefit for the Sean Humphrey House, a local AIDS care non-profit, and Microbrain was a birthday present, so they are no longer with me, but they wanted to be shared with you!:)

I have been crocheting alot lately, here are a few things that I made.

This is a scarf I made for my girlfriend, she picked out the colors; it is various shades of green, a darker and a lighter purple and a yellowish-orange. I used all different sizes and textures of yarn. The scarf is formed by granny squares crocheted together. No two are alike, and some are rectangular while some are hexagonal. I went through the patterns in "Illustrated Patchwork Crochet" by Bella Scharf. Sorry I don't have a picture of it on her and I didn't lay out, it is long, but you get the idea.





I bought this dress from Goodwill a while ago intending to wear it, but I realized that it needed help so I cut it shorter. The unfinished edge looked bad so I decided to crochet an edge on it. I used a brownish wool that looked good with the brown of the sunflowers. The pattern is just double-crochet then a few chains for two rows and then finished with a picot edging. Another thing I was thinking of is cutting it and crocheting between the top and bottom sections in the center of the dress where the tie is, but I am not sure how to do that. Any tips would be appreciated. Excuse my bra in the first pic.





Last but not least, legwarmers! They are made of purple and pink wool. You can't quite tell in the picture, but for each I used two colors held together to give a nice effect of more depth to the colors. One is purple and pink and the other is pink and light pink. The main part was made using the open shell pattern from "Step-by-Step Crochet" by Emily Wildman. There is a simple ribbing at the top.

I got a plaid skirt from Goodwill. It was a horrible mid-calf length with a split in the back, but I liked the fabric and the beltloops on the waistband and the pockets(!). I have no sewing machine, but I have a needle and thread so I pulled up the bottom and folded it under and sewed it at the sides and at the front and back, just under the elastic waistband. Now it is shorter and pooufier!
