1  Removing Creases from Posters in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by Jinx` on: October 23, 2013 06:50:48 PM
Oh my good and crafty friends! I have some posters (they're maps) that have some creases from the way they were folded.  I want to hang them up but the creases would, of course, detract from the amazing maps.  Any idea how to rid the paper posters of these creases?

Theyre Game of Thrones maps

2  Help with math in pattern writing! in Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions by Jinx` on: September 10, 2012 01:00:31 PM

(Picture has nothing to do with it but I can tell people click posts that have pictures a lot more)
Hi! So, I'm crocheting something rather large and that I've never seen before so I thought I'd write out the pattern as I go...Well, I thought the math would be simpler once I got to the point I needed to change what I was doing but I was wrong...Lemme show you what I've done so far:
ch 3
sc 6 - 6
2sc in each - 12
sc 2sc -
sc2 2sc -
sc3 2sc -
sc4 2sc -
sc5 2sc -
sc6 2sc -
sc7 2sc -
sc8 2sc -
sc9 2sc -
sc10 2sc -
sc11 2sc -
sc12 2sc -
sc13 2sc -
sc14 2sc -
sc15 2sc -
sc round for 21 -
Okay, now I'm trying to figure out how it increases with each round...I've always been hopeless at math so I have no idea why I thought this would be any different! Can anyone help me get started with the next round by telling me how it goes? :/

4  The princess is in another castle, but I'm here! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Jinx` on: August 21, 2012 08:34:32 PM
Toad from Nintendo...He is actually all one piece! I had originally crocheted circles for the head but it was too odd looking. Thankfully, the stitching part was much easier! The face was a bit difficult but it seems to have come out finally.

Here are 2 of the 3, now is just Mario!

5  Itsa me, Luigi! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Jinx` on: August 19, 2012 07:20:07 PM
I have a friend who has commissioned me to crochet Mario, Luigi, and Toad.  I started with Luigi and have to wait to do Mario (I've run outta plastic blue eyes.) Gah, I think I do too much detail sometimes.  All the clothes are done without patterns by the way.  Next, Toad, will be done in all one piece I think. I was able to finish Luigi in 3 days!

6  Problematic Pachyderm in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Jinx` on: August 16, 2012 06:08:20 PM
I can honestly say, I hate this elephant. Its adorable, it turned out great but I loathe this thing. I found the pattern online and it looked simple enough but no. The woman who wrote it, who did a lot of work on the pattern and is so kind to offer it for free, just was so hard to follow really. I couldn't even find where she made the trunk in it! What is used is what I made for his TAIL! It was outrageous...It took me four days...I used nearly an entire skein of yarn and almost all my stuffing bag is gone. I cannot even keep it in my bedroom to look at. I made it for a high school friend who just had a baby and has a jungle-themed nursery. The sooner I get it outta my sight, the better!

7  Art through time & space in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Jinx` on: August 08, 2012 12:30:33 PM
My mom's friend told us about this lady who does art classes for random people in a town south of ours.  She convinced my mom and then me to go and it was awesome! The only thing I've ever done, art wise, was sculptor or crochet...This woman was just amazing! Strangely, this was her first TARDIS to be painted, haha!

10  Amigurumi Hair Help in Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions by Jinx` on: August 07, 2012 11:06:02 AM
A lot of you, happily, are Whovians and will know the great Cap'n Jack Harkness played by the wonderful John Barrowman.  I am currently crocheting a little Cap'n Jack doll.  I have everything important except his hair...Here he is:

My problem is, of course, his famed sticky-uppy hair...How do I make his hair sticky-uppy like the Cap'n? Here is an example which shows the hair really well:

So, my amazing crochet friends, what do you think? What do you suggest for my going about making his hair all sticky-uppy?
