1  A Snowy Night in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: January 03, 2017 11:38:49 AM
Even though I hate winter and I can't wait for it to be warm outside again, I can't stop painting snowy scenes! Haha! (I would totally be the bear in this painting Cheesy ).

2  Mixed Media Owl in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: July 13, 2016 07:53:23 AM
I was painting this background and ran out of acrylic paint, but I had the creative bug bad and I was dying to create SOMETHING...so I got out my oil pastels and pencils and made this owl. It actually worked out really well and it was so much fun! Once I was finished, I sealed it with some spray sealer so that it wouldn't smudge.

3  A very large commission :D in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: June 29, 2016 04:08:06 PM
Recently, I was commissioned by a children's hospital to create 10 paintings of various sizes. The theme was animals playing outside. Two of the canvases were so big (four feet x five feet!) that I had a hard time taking photos of them.  Cheesy

4  The Fox and the Firefly in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: April 20, 2016 04:23:24 PM
I have been so busy lately, I haven't had a lot of time for painting....but I just HAD to get this one finished! I was inspired by a nature photo I saw where the fox almost seemed like he was smiling. It's done with acrylic paint and acrylic inks on a 11x14 stretched canvas.

5  Faux Trophy Head Sculptures --Rabbit now finished too! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: December 22, 2015 04:45:11 PM
I am having so much fun making these, I just had to share! They are multi media sculptures made from paper mache, wood, paint, gesso, glaze and fabric. They aren't quite finished...I think I will add some painted details to the plaques and maybe nameplates at the bottom.

I just added a photo of the rabbit I just completed. I made him some spectacles and a tophat because he is quite the dapper fellow. Wink

6  Abstract and a "Whimsical Abstract" Art in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: October 28, 2015 02:15:06 PM
I normally paint storybook whimsical kids art, but sometimes I like to do other things too. Smiley

For an upcoming art show in November, I have been working on some abstracts to show alongside my other work. The last photo is what I have dubbed a "whimsical abstract" that combines the two styles.

7  Alice in Wonderland in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: October 03, 2015 04:25:41 PM
Hello all! Smiley This is a painting I just recently finished. It's BIG... the canvas is 36 inches x 36 inches. I've always loved Alice in Wonderland so it was a lot of fun to paint the Mad Hatter's tea party in this large scale.

8  Adventure Journal in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: July 01, 2015 03:33:35 PM
I made this "Adventure Journal" to chronicle all the daily adventures, doodles and musings that may come up. And who better to guard these adventures than an adventurous dragon? Wink I used heavy cardboard for the front and back covers and painted and drew the artwork on heavy paper, cut it out and created a mini collage.
