Ok, I need to stop double stitching, all this quilting goes against everything I was taught at school!

I love this swap, everything it teaches me and all of you, very inspirational!

Big thanks

Just uploaded EllaRains, this swap is going too fast!  However, should be done in time to move Smiley

One question, Do you double backstitch each start and stop you do when piecing together?

My quilt is going to be turned into a baby quilt, I just found out my cousin is expecting in January, even for a less experienced quilter, that should be enough time assuming I don't do too much Xmas crafting!

Donniesgirl that moon block is lovely

Sparledust love the stars the colors are great

Thanks, I was so pleased to get to use some of that teapot/saucer/cup fabric, my mum bought it (as part of a random bundle) for my birthday but I've had nothing to use it on until now Smiley

Oh my hubby is the same, he doesn't understand the quilting especially, he says 'so you take some fabric apart and put it back together again?'

oh well, he always says he likes me sewing as it makes me happy so even if he doesn't quite understand he always takes an interest Smiley

I posted my first batch that are already in the gallery today and have started on EllaRain's. Soon to be uploaded but I'm coming in a 1/4 inch short or so, so may need to re-do those with a very tight seam allowance.

I'm loving all the colours this round, I can't wait to move so I have some space to get a stash like some of you have, those scrappy blocks are incredible.

So after some inspiring reading of sample blocks I ditched the green (and kept as a sample block!) as it was not matching up in the middle well enough for my liking and I've completed the other two. I think the blue backgrounds tie them together even though they are different. I played with the triangles too to experiment.

Everyone's help in the last swap has improved my seams so much, I just can't thank everyone for the difference it has made and apologise for the last ones I did in the last swap as I thought I was doing the right thing but a one sided seam is just so much neater.

I'm loving the bright colours in the gallery, I'm especially loving the orange four patch stars and fiery Celtic twist blocks, it's just such a strong theme of colour, they pop so well in these blocks.

Happy sewing everyone

I'm loving all this excitement, I'm dashing home from work again to keep up! I think I will start trying making a sample block, especially when I go for the more complex designs. I went easy this time because I needed to get them out quickly!

Donniesgirl's tip of pressing seems one way (and not open how I do dressmaking) has paid off so so much, it has improved the accuracy and they lay flat a lot better this round so I kinda feel bad for my previous partners where the backs where not so neat, sorry guys!

If anyone has any other tips I'd love to hear because I'm self taught with not so much time to read up although I bought one of the Craftsy classes in the sale last week so hope to learn a few extra tips from that, slowly but surely I may get as good as my mum one day!

Bonus though, so far I've not sewn anything on backwards!  Grin

My first two are up, I'll be sending before end of August-ish as we should get a move date for September.

Hopefully send out the first one beginning next week, I have 100 cupcakes to ice tonight/tomorrow eve so wont be able to complete the set until the weekend!
