Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. It was great to be back home and eat cake. For once we have missed the family boat for Easter and as my husband does shift work, I have 4 days of sewing to myself and I'm very excited. I think two of my packages will go Saturday and two on Tues 2nd as I don't want to rush them all on Thurs/Friday.
My mum bought me some scrap fabric bundles for my birthday so it's great to have more selection to choose from. Homerof won't just get orange now
Sorry I've been on the quiet, had a business trip to Scotland, glad it was last week and not this one, it's full of snow now!
I've received Homerof2's blocks today and they are just outstanding. I'll be working hard on my selection this weekend, hoping to have most of the pics up by Sunday night. It was my birthday yesterday and my familt bought me fabric, hoorah so I have a bigger selection for the next blocks!
I love the gallery, it is so full and the colour combo's are very inspiring to me as are the many different designs. I've not gone too out the box with quilt blocks before so I'm really enjoying this one.
I posted my first block for kbrison - note to self, don't try to sew the next ones in the evening when you are tired, it's too technical for that time of night.
I totally agree but I was too desperate to get one done! Hope you like it and let me know if the colour combo doesn't suit as I've not used all the colours in your questionnaire
Also, the bottom left light orange triangle looks dodge, there was a bit of thread in the way, it does sit flat and nothing wrong! x
Wow everyone, I'm getting a little jealous you all getting ahead of me, I hope to get it done mainly at weekends so will put my first pics up at the weekend. I have to say, they all look stunning, the accuracy is amazing, working me up a little sweat of nervousness!
Homerof2 - wow, I am stunned by how many fabrics are there, I think I have stash envy!
I am so looking forward to MY quilt, it is going to be bright, I am going to love it, and my family are going to be jealous! Esp my quilter mum!
My Gallery - Apologies they are a little creased looking or do not lay flat. I'm in a small apartment and we are mid moving so boxed up with little space and I'm having to take pics of them lying on the floor and they just keep sticking awkwardly to carpet and when I move it another bit moves! I am so looking forward to a proper craft room!
First one done, was thinking of doing an orange and pink one, and a pink one top tie the three together. They will have plain black backgrounds though as none of this fabric left and then more decorative ribbon parts. Link to tutorial for pattern - http://www.freshlemonsquilts.com/?p=1550
danynn - Bookshelf
Got my camera working, here is my first ever bookshelf. I've actually wanted to do these for a long time ago. I saw once people using the edge strips of fabric down the spines to echo the writing so I've tried this out too. Hope you like it.
Pearliepie - Four patch star, a new one for me, need to cut the threads on the 3rd one!
This was the most challenging for me as it tested my patience as I usually avoid anything that involves a lot of cutting and/or piecing as I tend too get bored and it becomes an unfinished project. So pleased when I'd finished them though!
This looks perfect to get back into swapping and picking the quilting back up, I've learnt crocheting in the last 6 months but want to get back to my sewing.
I'll send in my questionnaire, hope you'll have me
