1  Re: 11 Quilts in 2011 Quilt Along in Craftalongs by Little_G on: February 09, 2011 09:24:29 AM
Here's quilt number 2!!
I've made this for my niece's 1st birthday (tomorrow) Made from a Tilda charm pack, scraps from my stash, and flannel on the back! Pretty pleased how it came out for my second quilt, only problem was when the cat found it with his muddy paws  Angry I freaked right out! And it was on the clothes horse! No fear though guys, some gentle sponging got the paw prints out!!  Grin

Finished piece

Better lighting

Also posted in finished projects so sorry for anyone seeing it twice!!

2  Charm pack baby quilt! in Quilting: Completed Projects by Little_G on: February 09, 2011 09:13:10 AM
Hi, This is my second quilt, finished just in time for my niece turning 1 tomorrow! I wanted to make her something special that her Mum would like also (or I fear it would end up in the bottom of a dark drawer! Tongue )

I made it from a charm pack called Tilda, and scrap fabrics in my stash. The backing is flannel as what little 'un can resist the feel of that!

Finished quilt

A couple of close ups of the fabrics, huge apologies for the bad lighting!

Thanks for looking  Smiley c&c welcome

p.s I have learnt that I HATE hand binding the most out of the whole process!!!

3  Card stitching in Needlework: Completed Projects by Little_G on: February 01, 2011 01:28:21 AM
Hi. My Godmother recently got me into card stitching!

Quick and easy to finish, my favourite kind of project  Grin I love the fact that you can do it sitting and watching TV and choose your threads to make them personal, and you can have a card finished in a matter of minutes!

I've got a lot of free patterns from the internet, not quite managed to make my own yet but if you're full of ideas I'm sure it's pretty easy! Here's some pictures for you!

I used pearlescent thread for the baby cards, I think it works perfectly! I like to use bold colours if my cards are destined for a man  Smiley You know what they're like! I also make Christmas cards on black cards, using lots of reds, greens and yellows for a festive look.

I hope you like them, Thanks for looking

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome and the tips on pics!  Smiley

Here is my first quilt (ever!) and no.1 of intended 11! Made this for my Daddy-o's Birthday, all from scraps given to me by my mother in law!

Now to get on with the next quilt (if only I didn't have to work! Tongue )

Hope you like it!
