I have recieved from sheepBlue and it is a beautiful Frida Kahlo hoop!

The photo is a bit of a dudder - it's way more gorgeous in person!

I love the hair's texture!

really cool!  It looks knitted on there!  And again, I love the creativity on the actual hoop, great job SciFunk
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Mint & Chocolate Floral Pattern - my first hoopla! on: June 05, 2011 09:58:53 PM
I made this for the Ongoing hoopla swap for skittlebub.  She wanted something mint and chocolate chip and is into pretty things.  So I found this: http://www.keepdesigning.com/vectors/european-art-deco-floral-vectors-free/.  And the rest is history!

Some detail:

Thanks for looking!

I received from FiberAlchemist!  She did a perfect representation of my theme Northwest Native American Art -- which isn't surprising since she's in Washington state!

It's a salmon!

Detail shot of stitching -- I love the fill!

Thank you soooo much!  It's my very first!

..........I'm just going to put it aside for right now to cool off before doing anything else...

Happened to me with FiberAlchemists's hoop.  Then the lovely voice of Tim Gunn came to me "This is a make it work moment" Smiley

I'm sure it's lovely and I'll love it!

7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Hoopla Round 2 - Claim up until 6/22! on: June 01, 2011 09:07:00 PM

I'm Anna.  I live in California.  I'm passionate about my career in the museum world!  Cutesy isn't quite my style, but pretty is.  Although I never shy away from the grotesque!

I love color, especially if they are in an interesting combination and I think I would prefer a non-white/beige background, just for some variety.

And in no particular order, themes:
1. Washington, D.C. or California -- map or whatever
2. Magnolia or honeysuckle blooms
3. Something inspired by this color scheme: http://pinterest.com/pin/30029509/
4. Southwest or Northwest Native American Art - I love Kachina dolls and NW art in particular
5. Edgar Allan Poe -- especially "Lenore" and the quote "The ninety and nine are with dreams, content, but the hope of the world made new, is the hundredth man who is grimly bent on making those dreams come true."
6. Bees/Honeycomb
8.  Geometric or pattern and repetition
9. Tidal pools
10. Texture

-The mushroom matryoshka is soooo adorable!
-I love how TroubleT interpreted that quote, when she claimed I was very curious! Awesome job.
-Averia - your craftsmanship looks impeccable!  Are those satin stitches filling in the the characters?  Even if they are applique very straight lines.  And I like how you wrapped the hoop as well!
-I love the black and red contrast in the last two hoops, very cool.  The freeform is very well balanced!

I'm finishing up FiberAlchemist's hoop today!  Hopefully I'll be able to post it tomorrow.  Then ZidishaLuxe will probably be posted by Saturday!  Woo!

If I have 2 outstanding (not late) claims on round 1, am I still allowed 3 claims for round 2?  I really wasn't planning on it, but I would just like to be sure.

Anyway I'm very excited for this round!  I'm nearly done with round 1's hoops!
