I received from banana731 yesterday! I love to sew so she made me pattern weights. They are so cute! She themed them for two of my collectibles: owls and matryoshka. She got the fabric in Japan and she even made a little bag that matches to put them in. Smiley Thank you!!!

I received from craftyzooprgrl yesterday and I was spoiled! I was so giddy and could not stop giggling and jumping with excitement when I saw my little goody. Look at this amazingness. :

A TARDIS note as I opened the box.

It warned me to open the package with caution and have my sonic screwdriver handy. This is what I found.

It's a dalek sewing caddy for my little notions (needles, tailor's chalk, etc) which is something I requested but I had no idea it would be so amazing!!!

Inside were these little friends - pins and a weeping angel needle threader - so clever! All my favorite villains.

Filled with my little sewing things.

I love it! I love it! I love it! Thank you so much Steph!! Amazing!

I received! I received! I'm so excited. I was leaving the house on Saturday afternoon and I saw the package on the doorstep. I got so excited but I couldn't open it then because I was running late. Eek! Longest night ever! So, when I finally got home at 11:20 p.m.,exhausted, I opened my package. Smiley Enjoy!

The spread (with soooo many extras - thanks PirateColey)

First up - a mug complete with tea

Next - blank book to keep a record of all the books I still need to read (endless) and some super cute bookmarks

And a really cute bag for books or whatever else (I'll probably use it as a purse this summer) I love the colors although they didn't come out very well in this picture. Also, the only thing I requested was a craft inspired by my favorite book - Jane Eyre. This necklace is that craft and I love it! Thanks PirateColey!!!!

And last but not least - the books sent - good job Smiley

This is a book PirateColey found and said she had a hard time giving it up. Well thank you for sending it cause it is totally awesome!!! Jane Eyre graphic novel!!!! eek!

Sporting my goodies Smiley

Thanks so much PirateColey! This was a great first swap experience. I love it all!

10  1850's Dress for the San Francisco Dickens Christmas Fair in Costumes: Completed Projects by Rene24601 on: February 10, 2011 05:04:22 PM
Hey all! I worked on this for a while but was still finishing it the morning of the event. This was the first year I went dressed up and it was so much fun! Smiley This is my first real venture into historical costuming and I am so excited to get further into it.

I made everything except the corset and the crinoline petticoat made of tulle. I bought both those items at the Fair in previous years. I used Simplicity #3727 and modified the sleeves a little (made them smaller and one piece instead of two) and didn't make the collar. So here it goes.

Used a Simplicity pattern for the chemise and drawers which is now out of print.

I made this flounced petticoat to go over the tulle criniline I bought because the skirt needed more volume. I made it out of scraps of fabric I had from old projects so nothing really matches but it's underneath so it doesn't really matter. Smiley

The finished look Smiley

At the Fair:

Thanks!
