61  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Puppy for my Boy on: December 23, 2011 12:13:43 PM

Part of the christmas present for my boyfriend Kerner.
My first plushie. I think it turned out pretty cute, I want to make more!  Grin
62  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Prized smoothie recipes! Share here! on: November 30, 2011 06:44:28 PM
Heya folks
So my Magic Bullet is my friend, and no, it is not a phase. Although I have yet to convince my boyfriend of that fact. Is over 6 months a phase? I think not!

I adore smoothies. Yum yum yum.
Fruit are my friend, as they are yours. Delightfully sweet or funny-face-making sour, I love them all.

Always looking for fantastic new recipes for smoothies.
Currently my most common (I won't say favorite because there are others that I prefer the taste of, but you can't go wrong with the convenience of this one) is a banana smoothie.
One or two bananas, ripe is better than not ripe, obviously.
Milk, anywhere from 1/2 cup to 1 cup.
And either a scoop of vanilla ice cream (for sweetness and coldness, but who needs ice cream in the morning..not me unfortunately) or a scoop of vanilla-flavored soy protein powder. Or you could skip those both and just put a little shot of vanilla extract.
Very tasty, I drink them like water. Healthy, well without the ice cream anyways, and filling.
But seeing how I have had the same smoothie for many days in a row, its just nice to change it up a bit.

So I'd love to hear your favorite recipes!!

Another one of my favorites is an Avocado smoothie. One or two ripe avocados, some milk, ice, little bit of vanilla if needed, and a whole lot of condensed milk. Needless to say this one should be had as a treat, not an everyday meal.  Tongue
Also, strawberry smoothies (more like a slushy though) are great, frozen strawberries (other frozen berries taste great too) tossed in the Bullet with a bit of water and a dash of sugar. Mmmm all I need is tapioca pearls.

Another thing...anyone have any suggestions how to integrate vegetables into my smoothie-making crusades as well? I've thrown fresh spinach into strawberry smoothies before. Imagine a lovely brown slop with chunks of red and green, that actually tastes like a mixture of strawberries and spinach. Didn't see that one coming.  Cheesy
63  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Floppy puppy plush tutorial or pattern? on: November 26, 2011 10:09:46 AM
I've never sewn a plush before but I do sew all the time (usually make clothing and bags from my own created patterns).
But I can't seem to find a good pattern, or tutorial.

I'd love for it to be floppy style, still slightly realistic. Something I could make with faux fur, maybe like a golden retreiver or something?
I've been searching online for awhile now and am having no luck.

Help? Thanks!<3
64  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Where can I find mini canoe paddles? on: November 20, 2011 04:56:14 PM
I'm looking for some miniature canoe paddles, preferably anywhere within the length range of 8" to 14", perhaps raw wood.
I plan on doing some paintings on them...just have to find some now.

Any wholesale sites that anyone knows of?
65  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Bunch o' ACEOs (fantasy and critters alike!) on: November 05, 2011 08:41:27 PM
Truth be told not all of these are ACEOs. Some are slightly larger, 3x5" instead of the usual size of 2.5x3.5" for aceos.
Some are commissions or trades from Deviantart (my account is Kodriak over there, by the way)
All of these are done with acrylics, sometimes with metallic paint and glowing paint!

Just a wolf I painted - love this one (3x5")

Commission for ShePaintsWithBlood on Deviantart (3x5")

Commission for Araktugage on Devart (3x5")

Commission for Tatchit on devart (3x5")

Trade with BlackScaled on devart (3x5")

Just another painting of a wolf- don't love this one so much.. (3x5")

Epona from The Legend of Zelda (uber nerd!) (3x5")

Trade with ElorenLeianor on Devart (ACEO)

Peacock, but a trade with Countrygirl957 on devart (ACEO)

Trade with Whitespiritwolf on Devart (ACEO)

Commission for HeroJamesStar on devart (3x5")

66  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Sleeves help? Just ideas on: September 17, 2011 08:50:43 AM
Hello thar folks
Been working on this for a little bit here and there, wanted to finish it up but I'm unsure of what kind of sleeves to make.
Full length?
3/4 length?
With cuff? Without cuff?
Short bubble sleeves?

I'd prefer it to be longer but I'm honestly torn.
Let me know what you think, it'll be hugely appreciated!

By the way this is made by my own pattern, etc. Nice black twill fabric with satin-y black and white polka dot lining inside. Its meant to be a cropped jacket thing (but no closure in the front) or I bolero I guess.
67  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Tasty ways to jazz up popcorn? on: September 14, 2011 08:03:14 PM
I adore popcorn (air-popped, non of that microwavable junk. Though I'm a sucker for movie theater popcorn), but its nice to change things up a bit from the usual melted butter, occasionally with a little sprinkle of salt.

Any ideas to shake things up? Preferably nothing prebought, like those flavoured popcorn powders. Things I have in the kitchen.

I just tried a little sprinkle of sugar and it gives it that kettle cooked flavor, which is tasty as well.
68  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / What to do with plain old white canvas flats? Ideas? on: August 29, 2011 02:52:44 PM
I bought a pair of plain, boring as hell, white canvas flats awhile ago with the intention of doing something to revamp them because as is, they're ugly as sin right now. To the point where I was just trying them on and my mom walked in, she started laughing at my feet.
They're like these but without the red stripe.

Got any idea of what to do with these babies?
I'm leaning towards something subtly edgy, but I'm open to any ideas.
69  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Day at the Cottage [Feather Painting] on: August 24, 2011 05:38:45 PM

Big painting on an array of three feathers, a wedding gift for a woman to her hubby-to-be. Their cottage with their pup.

Took a few hours to do.
Enjoy! Smiley
70  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Wolves [Small acrylic realism paintings] on: July 12, 2011 04:42:54 PM

I love love love how this one turned out.

I don't really like how this one came out...

Two of the little commissions I've done, little paintings done with acrylics. Only measure 3x5 inches I think. Really fun, and quick! The white wolf one took me about 45 minutes to paint from start to finish. And it has reflective metallic copper paint.
