121  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: my first dress on: September 16, 2012 06:56:49 PM
Oh my GOD that is a gorgeous dress!

The pattern looks VERY familiar, I think that I may own that one. I made a couple dresses a few years ago for a tropical vacation, looks very similar. Yours turned out a million times better, your fabric choice is incredible. Perfect drape, perfect fit!

I'm so inspired now!
122  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Your Favorite T-Shirt Recons? on: September 06, 2012 03:06:59 PM
I've been on a t-shirt surgery inspiration kick lately, started a board on Pinterest of all the lovely recons that I would love to try.
My board --> http://pinterest.com/daytimeheroes/adopt-a-t-shirt/

Totally hit up a thrift shop yesterday, bought a handful of way oversized dirt-cheap shirts in some nice colours/patterns, now just to find the right inspiration!

Show me your faves! Links, photos, Pinterest boards, etc!
Lets make a collection!  Grin
123  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Lap of Luxury - Tiger With Butterfly Wings on: September 03, 2012 03:30:33 PM

124  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Best places to get cocoa and shea butter? (Online & Real Stores) on: August 22, 2012 01:23:05 PM
My mother and I have found a huge fascination in the art of making cosmetics, body products and the like. For our first experiment we want to try making knock-off LUSH hard massage lotion bars. The recipe requires cocoa and Shea butters.

So my question is, where is the best place to get cocoa and Shea butter, price-wise?
125  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Penny (too many) for your thoughts?? on: August 14, 2012 04:16:46 PM
That looks AWESOME!
Love the random placement too, I've been dying to do this, just waiting for the perfect "canvas".

And may I mention how awesome the "get nakid" is? How fabulous!
126  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Is it possible to make shoe soles? In any way, shape, or form? on: August 08, 2012 07:51:37 AM
I'm especially looking for a way to create a rubberized splendor mocassins, though any other shoe type is great.

Ideas?
127  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: [TUTORIAL] DIY Removable Shoe..... Wings! on: August 08, 2012 07:45:35 AM
These are AWESOME! Yay for God inspiration!
I think the black vinyl on the similarly black oxfords is good because it isn't that shock of 'WOW they have something on their shoes" (some people are easily frightened by things not normally seen in day-to-day fashion - how unfortunate), but you actually have to look to see them. Subtle, but at the same time, they're WINGS!! Cheesy

I do need to make some of these!
128  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Tribal Sundress with Bustier-style bodice on: July 27, 2012 02:53:25 PM

Though I can't take complete credit for the design (as I referenced another dress that I had), I did have to make the pattern myself. I'm pretty happy with this little dress, can't wait to wear it out!

For the fabric, a lovely pale blue cotton with browns and whites in a tribal pattern that I "stole" (she let me have it) from my grandmother's fabric stash. I should have measured the yardage that I took, but I didn't. It was wide enough to wrap around me 1.5 times and was about half way down my shins if I wrapped the fabric around my like a towel (under my arms). I ended up with a piece about 10" by 5". Close call!

Its partially lined (the bodice), and has shirring in the back, so no zipper! My first time shirring. I LOVE IT. Turned out perfectly, and its very comfortable. Super super easy too.

I plan on using this pattern again soon! Can't have too many sundresses!  Cheesy
129  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Pink Suede to Fierce Studs on: July 19, 2012 03:16:44 PM
Those look incredible! Totally like designer kicks, I swear I have seen some just like this. And love the ever-so sexy red underneath, I've been dying to do that to a pair of my heels.
130  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Ugly $3 Walmart Heels into something Sexy? Need ideas!! <3 on: July 19, 2012 02:30:06 PM

So I found these butt-ugly heels at Walmart for $3. The "Cheap University Student" in me leapt at that price tag, but there is no way in hell that I'm wearing them as-is.

Sooooo..

OUT COME THE SCISSORS!

As you can tell by the photos, they basically look like a rather plain heel design, with a sort of "sleeve". I suppose I could just cut carefully along the line and call 'em done, but who wants to stop at that? Besides, I have a pair of heels already that look similar to that design. Looking for something snazzier.

I love the idea of lace, studs, etc. Maybe a splash of colour somewhere, somehow.  I need inspiration, and input!

I'd love to hear anything you folks have to say!

(Cacti say HI!)
