Heck I use it too or cotton. I just can't afford fancy yarn i am a starving college student. I do like Red Hearts soft yarn though. Its so soft O_O
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Gold Circle Vest Fastening off/Motif question on: June 29, 2011 07:06:42 PM
Okay so I am working on this vest. The pattern says

"The back and front of the vest are worked in one big circle, starting from the center back and working in rounds. Spaces are left for the arm holes, then the circle is continued to form the fronts and collar"

It is the gold circle vest pattern found in the "So Simple" crochet book. I am just having some trouble with the pattern. When it says fasten off, does that mean I cut the yarn and reattach? It says I am suppose to work it in a continuous round though. *Sigh* i've never used motifs before so I am confused. Anyone ever work with this pattern or know what they are talking about? It is published in a book so  I don't think I can post the whole pattern here...

Round 14 St st in each of 1t 3 ch, 7ch, 1tr, 3ch in each 5ch sp to end, sl st in 4th ch. Fasten off.

Where I am stuck is round 15.

Round 15: This round is made up of separate flower motifs joined to the round 14 as they are worked.

1st Motif
Wind arn around finger to form a ring.
1st motif round (RS):: 4ch, leaving the last loop of each st on hook, work 4 tr in ring, yo and pull through 5 loop on hook, [5ch,5trcl in ring] 3 times, 2 ch, 1dc in 1st sp after join of 14th round, 2 ch 5trcl in ring, 2ch, 1dc in last sp of round 14, 2ch, 5trcl in ring, 5ch, sl st in 4th ch. Fasten off.

This is someones image on flikr of what the vest looks like

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help making a crochet chart for granny square afghan on: March 02, 2011 12:54:10 PM
Okay, so i've seen post of peoples completed projects with various characters.

I am so wanting to make a Gir Afghan, but I have no idea where to get a good chart to do so.

I've tried, http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/ but it looks pixelated to me, in particular around the zipper. i'd like it to be as close to the picture as possible. ^^;; any help would be fab.

This will be my first attempt at such a big project, but I am determined to give it a try. <3
