301  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: A Mermaid Birthday Ideas on: February 13, 2011 06:20:16 PM
It might be fun to get a large box or screen (for 3-year-olds, one of those foamcore trifold project boards might work) and then put a picture of a mermaid on it. Cut out the face and then let the kids stand behind it and put their face in the hole. Take digital pictures of them and then print them out to use as thank-you cards.

Another idea is some kind of "fishing" game.

Pretty sea shells might be nice goody-bag items.
302  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Star Wars birthday? on: February 13, 2011 06:08:16 PM
I saw online to play the Star Wars theme at some "high point" of the party (cake unveiling, gift time, etc.)

And there was also an online suggestion to make a game where you have quotes from the movies and the guests have to guess who said it... or which movie it was from.

Could you try to hide printouts of characters' faces around the party area saying funny things? (Like maybe even under the lid of the toilet!)

You could also do that old game where you put a famous name (in this case, characters from the films) on the guests' backs and they have to figure out who they are, only asking yes-or-no questions of the other guests (no fair asking, "Am I Luke Skywalker?"!!!)

It would be fun to do something with "light sabers" -- maybe use those glow sticks in some way?
Sounds like a fun idea!

This has got to be one of the best baby crafts EVER! Just adorable. What a lucky baby (and mom).
