Okay... I have to ask... what is torrenting? I feel silly asking but now I just have to know....
Don't feel silly, I had to ask the same thing about a year ago, and the only person I could think of to ask was my computer geek friend so I really got reemed for not knowing. And if there are any computer geeks that are reading this I'm apologizing in advance for my dumbed down way of explaining it, but this is the only way I could understand it.
Its a way of downloading big files semi-quickly. You know how napster used to work? Its kinda similar to that. You go and download a torrenting program like BitTorrent and then you find a torrenting site that has something you want to download like high quality episodes of Doctor Who (which is usually a pretty large file size) so then when you download that torrent it uploads the file from everyone else that has that torrent on their computer. So instead of downloading a huge file from one website you're downloading it from a hundred different places so it downloads quicker. For me it still usually takes about an hour per episode but they're HD quality. The other good thing about torrenting is that if you turn your computer off in the middle of a dowload it doesn't stop the download where you have to start over again. It saves how much of the file you have downloaded and then continues the next time you go online. Which is really nice because then you can put to download an entire season of a tv show and just have it torrenting in the background while you go about your normal buisness on the computer and then in a couple days you have the whole season downloaded and you can watch it or burn it to dvd or whatever.
I hope that made sense. If it didn't, you can google "what is torrenting" and find like a million websites that can probably explain it better
