1  my new apron, regency style in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by squiggyflop on: January 17, 2011 04:35:28 PM
well i used a historical pattern and used some pink calico fabric, the fabric was 1$ a yard and calico makes stains blend in.. i may have used a historical type pattern but this is no costume.. its a real apron for serious cooking.. i used a historical apron because im a beginner at sewing and i couldnt find any other patterns for long aprons..

closeup of the front and calico pattern..

full length.. i wont be dripping on my shins anymore while cooking will i.. sorry that its fluffy out on the side

the back has 2 sets of ties.. the only problem is that i cannot tie the top set myself.. so i will have to make another apron that i will be able to tie myself

my second sewing project..

2  fleece costume princess robe (first sewing project) in Costumes: Completed Projects by squiggyflop on: January 13, 2011 11:02:18 AM
well i took this costume pattern, http://www.sewingpatterns.com/sub_item.php?item_num=5731MCC and made it up in fleece,

burgundy and gold blizzard fleece.
i had to alter the pattern a bit because i wanted it to be a pull over the head type of robe and since this is my first sewing try i didnt want to mess with zippers.. i made it XL and tailored the top a bit to make it not hang so low..

and yes i am that deathly pale

i think it came out rather ugly, but its a bathrobe, no one will see me wear it.. i made it because my house is 50 degrees and im always cold.. sorry i didnt get my full body in the shot, our house is small and the snowpocalypse was happening outside so i couldnt get the camera far back enough to get a good picture.. its floor length but you can only see until my knees in the pic.

i wasnt actually sure what category this belonged in, since its both a bathrobe and a princess costume at the same time..
