7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / inside of a tape earrings... i erno how to discribe it : / TUTORIAL UPON REQUEsT on: April 06, 2005 07:16:25 PM
guess what i made em out of??....the insides of a tape! all it took was a few layer of nail polish, thread & needle, faux pearls, & fishhook earrings!! fun fun!! :]

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/P4030062.jpg

Ok. So the first things first!!  gather your materials:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/9cb34dff.jpg

1.   needle
2.   thread (you can also use fishing wire so its see through which is also a good idea)
3.   tape
4.   fishhook earrings
5.   pearls :]
6.   hot glue gun (optional, but STRONGLY RECCOMENDED)

the most difficult thing, (but ehhh you get used to it). Rip up destroy & just do anything possible to get to the insides of the tape. Orrr if yur protective about the outer case & wanna use it for something else, I suggest the tutorial of the tape id holder, which includes instructions on removing the outer cover of the tape.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/53a997fd.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/ad48264a.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/90f87b95.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/b9809f0d.jpg

cut the tape that connects one to the other.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/ac776d35.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/0a2576dc.jpg

then apply nail polish where you cut it. Making it stick, next apply clear n.polish on one side of the wheel. Let dry. Then do the other side. Let dry.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/c1bb29c3.jpg

While its drying,, get thread through the needle. Tie the knot on the end to secure it, but dont wrry about the pearls going through, if the thread is long enough, they wont & later on it doesnt matter.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/861f49b3.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/3557bc8a.jpg

slip the wheel in (when its dry of course)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/49f6619c.jpg

and then thread back to the pearls, loop the fishhook in as well. secure the string with 3 tight knots

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/ca36b838.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/d2901887.jpg

cut off the excess string
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/isloovereal/Picture016.jpg

(to prevent the work from slipping off the fish hook earrings, I would reccomnd adding a dab of hot glue. On the eye of the fishhook)

and tada!!!! Flaunt your mini-masterpiece!!! :]

AHH!! i love gameboards! have i mentioned that before? lol. ive done cards, scarbble, sorry, & now im into CHESS!! eeeeeeek!

ok so this is my tote its abut 14 inches x 10 inches. the ribbon is black and is about 32 inches discluding the bow. the width is about 2 inches. it started out to be about a 20 x 20 chess mat, then i did some fancy shabams! to make it snazzy!!

i made this from my brothers old chess mat which he recieved when he won some competition.

the button was from an old antique store. while the ribbon was ripped of an old prom dress of my cuzins.

a closeup of the button, i used a hairtie for it.
