Could I make a pattern with two tall slender triangles for the sides and a round bottom for this bag? How do you put the zipper in like that?

Does it matter what hook I use? Yay! I'm excited to try this after I buy the yarn. Maybe I'll post a picture of the finished product after I'm done. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks! How many rounds do you think the granny squares are? And what kind of lacing is that around the top and bottom of the dress? And are these considered traditional granny squares?

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet Hooded Sweater on: April 28, 2011 09:53:35 PM
I found this cool vintage sweater on ebay for $96!! But I figured I could make it! I just need help starting it.

How can I make that border part on the bottom and where the buttons are? It looks like it's knitted, but I don't know how to knit. Could I make rows of single crochet with a smaller hook and border it and then make the sweater part separate made of double crochets with a larger hook and then sew them together? Is there any way to just crochet it in a row? How would I do that? It looks like for every row of double crochet there would be two rows of single. I'm lost  Undecided Oh, and what size hook should I use for the large double rows?
