1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / Where To Find Things To Recycle / Re: Recycling old patterns on: July 01, 2012 06:28:00 AM
I use old patterns instead of tissue paper for packing orders/gifts.  Ti with some vintage-y ribbon and it makes just about anything look fab Smiley  It is just tissue paper, you can always find a use for tissue paper
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Pot holders from jeans pockets on: July 01, 2012 06:24:31 AM
Brilliant!  I have a stash of jeans pockets, left over after I use the dead jeans for something else.  This is perfect  Grin  Thanks for sharing

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: book lamp (IMAGE HEAVY) on: July 01, 2012 06:05:13 AM
Aieee, brilliant!  I have an old broken lamp, and a couple of old, fallen apart paperbacks, both of which I've kept because "I'm sure I can do something with these".  And now, for the first time ever, I find something to do with these broken bits of crap BEFORE I finally give in and chuck them out (you know how you keep junk for years, then eventually bin it, and then two weeks later find the instructions for a great project you could have made with them? Me, every time).  Thank you so much for this genius and simple idea.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: I am IRON MAN. WOMAN. Actually its just a t-shirt...BUT! (shiny!) on: May 08, 2012 01:49:07 PM
Oh wow, this is just the best thing ever!  Nice work Cheesy  I love that to the uninitiated it just looks like a cool red and yellow tee, but WE ALL KNOW BETTER. I may have to make myself one like this (don't worry, I always say this, and never actually get round to it).  Just, yes.  You rock Smiley
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Cheap canvas print into EPIC canvas print. on: February 01, 2012 06:43:59 AM
So simple, and I love the grungy effect Smiley  Nice work!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: What do you do with your finished projects? on: February 01, 2012 06:39:51 AM
Gifts!  I takes a long time for us crafters to realise it, but other people love what we do!  I have looked at a finished piece and thought, well THAT'S tatty, and that bit's a bit wonky, and wow, call that a french knot? What a mess - only to have a friend come up and say OMG you did that?! It's amazing!  Or something like that.
So finish it off, and give it away! And then you can get on with making MORE THINGS!  Hooray Smiley
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: What do you do with your extra tiddly bit floss? on: February 01, 2012 06:36:04 AM
Floss holders, compartmentalised plastic boxes - you lot are so organised, I have organiser envy Cheesy  But what I do with my leftovers is roll them loosely round my fingers so they're in a loop, and drop them into an old travel-first-aid box (about 4" by 3").  I then use the bits up on various other projects, including my WIP sampler which I use just to practise my stitches.  Colour's not so important on there, I can just use what I have.
OK so every now and then I have to untangle a few unruly  threads, but hey, we all love an excuse to get our threads out in public.  Don't we? Er...

Stitching this quote is on my "to do one day" list Cheesy  Great job, it looks beautiful
