151  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Science Swap (SU Closed; Send Out 8/12/2014) on: July 13, 2014 05:12:00 PM
Supplies purchased.  I usually don't buy supplies online, but this time it was a MUST( ;)hehe) and its going to take a week to get to me!  Shocked  So I guess I will work on my other idea till the supplies reach me.

So how did you get interested in science?   Grin
152  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R2- SU: until July12, 2014; SO: August 6, 2014 on: July 13, 2014 05:09:05 PM
I did some stalking already and have a few ideas. I have to go and dig through the stash to see if I have some suitable fabrics. If not, I might have to hit the FQ section at JoAnn Fabrics!

That's what I just did.  So glad they were on sale! =)  And now I have some awesome new fabric to work with!

Off to start making some patches!  I have one idea already in the works.  Another I need to think out a little more.  Wink

154  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Frugal Living Swap-round 6, anyone? on: July 13, 2014 09:11:47 AM
I guess it would be up to the people who want to sign up....I would get a feel for what they think.

But in keeping it on the smaller side, like I had mentioned in my other post...what about one small and one medium, with any more to be determined between the partners themselves?

I think that sounds good!  One small and one medium seem to be a good fit for me.  I don't seem to stress as much, and I get to make more than one thing! (I can never seem to make up my mind on what to make my partners, I always want to make them everything!)
155  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: first time making a blanket on: July 13, 2014 07:56:38 AM
Those are so cute!  How did you like sewing with the minky fabric?  I always want to try it because it's so soft, but it seems like it could get my machine kinda messy.
I love all the extras with the superman blanket!  The taggy dinosaur is so cute!

These are so beautiful!  All of them!

Alrighty...another episode of Silly Questions from Tina  Grin

I was always taught that embroidery should not be knotted on the back. You weave the tails under, similar to yarn work.

These patches were suggested that they are quilted all the way through the layers. But I consider some of it to be embroidery. I have cheated and used knots before  Wink I hate tying all those tails.

Do I just follow the standard quilting method of "hiding the knot" by tugging into the batting?

By the way craftADDchick...you are getting big dipper/little dipper  Grin I worked out the pattern last night.

I'm glad you asked!  I was just getting on here to ask the same question!   Grin
158  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Thread Catcher on: July 12, 2014 12:15:54 PM
I finally got around to sewing up a thread catcher for myself.  I used this Thread Catcher Pattern from The Polka Dot Apron.

While it didn't turn out quite how I was planning.  I like how it ended up.

And for some reason I'm obsessed with making things reversible.  So here are the two forms.
