41  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: From Trash to Treasure - Soda Pop Top Pin Cushions! on: August 20, 2010 02:25:13 PM
Yea!  Cheesy Maybe now my girls will quit absconding with my pin cushions!

I doubt that! Seems like something this cute would make them more inclined to squirrel them away.

This is beyond awesome! I'm...(wait...I have to work up to it...) I'm a bit of a horder, but only because I don't have as much time to craft as I need to work with all the things I find. I will make time to do this, though. That's how inspiring I find them. And great tut! I have all those items not 2 feet away from me right now.

I wish they had a "You ROCK" button, instead of just 'this rocks'.
43  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Embroidery Hoopla Swap! (SignUp 8/6/10 - 8/20/10, SendOut 9/20/10) on: August 20, 2010 02:11:55 PM
This is the perfect day to find out who my partner is, 'cause it's payday. So excited!
44  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: New to Inchies, but loving em on: September 01, 2009 05:40:09 AM
These are great! I've never even heard of Inchies, but the idea looks fast, fun, and an easy way to make doodling into art.

I love the nursery room picture. And little Oliver will love it too. He'll have fun learning the animals on it. Great job. I especially like the earth-to-sky background, as it really ties it all into a cohesive whole.

And, yes! Isn't craftster more dangerous at night? I've found myself on here way too long many, many times.

Post more pics, as these are inspiring!
45  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Embroidered Card on: February 13, 2009 02:39:10 PM
I used to do this as extra credit for geometry class. And I loved doing it, and have totally forgotten about it. I will have to dig out the rainbow fish that helped me pass the class.

Yours is beautiful, I love the teardrop shape. Well done!
46  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: No more poking needles in armrests ... an embroidery armrest organizer on: October 30, 2008 02:14:02 PM
This is great! I, too, am a fan of practical crafts. Good job. And sometimes, cute and fast is better than perfect and fast. So if it works, use it!
47  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Have you altered books with shiny pages? on: September 13, 2008 09:18:30 AM
I have no answer for you, but I've just recently wondered the same thing. I work in the processing area of a library and we tend to throw out the kinda funky donated books. I have seen a few that peek my interest for altering because they are big art books, but the shiny pages throw me.

Maybe there is a sanding technique for getting glue and/or paint to stick? I think I might have read about that somewhere. I'll be sure to let you know if I find where I read that.

And if anyone else has any ideas, share'em! We need to know. Smiley
48  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Mini Clipboards on: September 13, 2008 09:06:47 AM
I was goofing off in Hobby Lobby yesterday. I was in the stamping section when I turned around and saw a little bag of tiny chipboard clipboards. And I mean really tiny. The smallest one would fit those half size post-its. The biggest one should fit a regular post-it. The clips just looked like those little all metal clips you can get at an office supply store. I couldn't tell just from looking if the clips were adhered to the boards or not, but I was thinking that you could just cut an old clipboard down and glue a metal clip to the top.
49  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Yellow Submarine Birthday Cake on: September 09, 2008 04:31:21 PM
This is amazing and totally gets the this rocks button! And props to you for introducing your 4 year old to the Beatles! Awesome.
50  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Jumped on the February Lady Sweater bandwagon... on: August 26, 2008 04:03:05 PM
This is beautiful. It fits you well. The sleeves are too cute. And, may I just say, your skin is so prefect looking I had to look twice at that first picture to make sure  you were not a mannequin.
