21  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Pegboard of awesomeness on: July 14, 2011 08:56:54 PM
My roommate moved out last month, so I moved into the big bedroom. Took it as a chance to take stock of what I actually wanted in my bedroom. I like having my crafts around me, so I came up with this organizational system:

My desk is a standing desk made of 2 black filing cabinets, 2 3-drawer scrapbook paper holders from Target, and a large piece of wood painted white. Underneath the desk are 2 2-shelf cubes also from Target that hold all my yarn in and on top (the ones facing out are stuffed into those photo boxes). Between those is my sewing machine, which I should really not have on the floor, but eh. The bookshelves hold all my craft books, jewelry supplies, embroidery floss, fabric, blank books for design ideas, and more photo boxes - some of which are actually holding photos! The pegboard (my new favorite thing!) I thought was going to have to be painted. Which would have been a total pain, because it's been consistently 95-98 here. But Home Depot had some in white! So I got 2 2x4 sheets and just hung them up last night. My favorite thing on the pegboard is my Whitman's Mucha tin that is holding my mini glue gun. It's amazing how getting everything organized actually makes me want to craft more. Now maybe I'll use that iron you see up there. (hahaha.)

Thanks for looking!
22  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Harry Potter Deathly Hallows keyring on: July 14, 2011 08:25:38 PM
My good friend and fellow HP fandom freak had a birthday this past week. I made her this and just got it to her today. Very satisfyingly, she immediately put it on her keys.  Grin

Here's the back. I forgot to make sure it lined up straight with the ring. oh well.

The local 20 screen theater is showing HP 7 part 2 on 18 (!) of the screens for midnight shows, and I still couldn't get tickets. And I tortured myself this morning by reading the LeakyCon events list. But! I did get to go see Harry and the Potters last week. That was fun.

How are you celebrating this 'end of an era'?
23  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Colony penguin pin on: June 03, 2011 02:44:58 PM
This is amazing! I can't believe that's clay. The thumbnail on the front page had me thinking it was a fabric because I have fabric that looks just like this. Fantastic job! Very inspiration.
24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / embroidered eggs! what the fork?! on: May 05, 2011 06:28:26 AM
A little late for an Easter post, but I saw this and just had to post it along. http://www.designspongeonline.com/2011/04/sewing-101-embroidered-eggs.html

It looks amazing, but alas, I do not currently have all the tools. Or patience. Or enough eggs that I'd be willing to not eat.

But I thought my fellow Craftsters should see the pretty, at least.
25  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Fabric + Paint = Awesome! on: February 24, 2011 06:09:10 AM
These are great, lovely, and very inspiring. I'm new to this wonderful world of fabric - what's FQ mean?

Thanks for sharing!
26  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Iron Caddy on: February 22, 2011 05:42:10 PM
that's really cute, and quite a clever idea. If I ever used my iron I'd make one.
27  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Computer Hutch to Play Kitchen on: February 19, 2011 09:39:54 PM
wow! this is so awesome the word awesome doesn't even convey how awesome it really is. The amount of effort you put into it boggles my mind. I love the "wallpaper", and the fact that you put up a beautiful painting for the "window".

Thanks for sharing!

28  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Cherry Bomb on: February 19, 2011 09:33:17 PM
too cute! I love the expression.
29  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: Pink Lamps of Venice - Batik on: February 18, 2011 10:25:31 PM
um...WOW! I thought it was a painting at first until I started reading. I've wanted to batik since I was a wee little thing. But I never even realized you could get this level of detail. Great job, this definitely rocks!
30  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: EXCUSE ME, I WAS LOOKING AT THE WATER. on: February 06, 2011 10:17:11 PM
Can we get a pic of the new hanging shark too? Cause that sounds almost as awesome as this looks.
