31  Re: Theme Box Swap Gallery and Discussion in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: March 14, 2012 06:02:39 PM
HELLO!

Finally I am set up and able to get pics posted!  I am so sorry, Sugarsandwitch, for the delay.  You spoiled, spoiled, spoiled me and I can't wait to share the awesomeness with everyone.

People would be really upset if I posted all the pics I took (I think I took 20-30 pics total!), so for the full experience check out the pics in my gallery.   This is still going to be really pic heavy though, there is just so much to share!

>>NOTE:  Shoot!  Craftster Photo hosting is giving me fits now, and I haven't gotten all the pics uploaded.  I'll keep trying, you simply must see all the awesome...<<

Here's a full list of everything that was in the box:
- Incredible Hunger Games Woodburned hanging
- Sweet hand drawn fairy in a gorg frame
- "Believe", "Wish" and awesome blue stars (these are going near my "jar of stars" / earlier swap!)
- Star candles and mini star playing cards
- Handy lingerie bag (this will be great to have, versus using the plastic bags in the hotel rooms)
- Hand crafted gnomie with sweet blonde braid
- A "stars" themed bag (this will be great for groceries!)
- A gorgeous hand painted & decorated travel first aid kit (SO useful!  I'm constantly traveling and it's a pain not to have little things like band-aids, aspirin, etc.)
- A fairy suncatcher, hand made by her son (sweet!!)
- A wooden Buddhist Mala (prayer necklace)
- classic pink flower cards (always nice to have, to send with swaps!)
- A Garden sign - "Keep off the dirigible plums" (Harry Potter)
(YES, I'm STILL GOING!  Can you believe how lucky I am?!)
- Bits n' bobs, which include:
  - carrot gardening themed earrings
  - tricolor holly leaf earrings
  - An awesome Hunger Games bracelet (I was so sorry to hear about the trials you had with that one, sugarsandwitch!  It is gorgeous just the way it is with the Arrow, the cornucopia, Pres. Snow's white rose and Peeta's pearl)
- Hand made puppy snax which my dogs ate right up (who can say no to puppy eyes?!)
- PERSONALIZED Harry Potter letter!  It is the acceptance into Hogwarts, with the uniform, course book list, other equipment, and all!!! (Yippee!)
- OH!  And, origami instructions, so fun!

And now for pics of some of my favorites (there's just no way I could include pics of everything, it would totally crash folks' computers with all the shots!!!)

Hunger Games (I think this is my favorite - is it bad to pick favorites?  I just love it!  So awesome):

The Hunger Games bracelet and gardening / holly earrings:

The hand drawn Fairy:

The seasonally awesome season-changing art (it was hard to get good pics of this one, but you can get the idea of the changes):

I'll keep working to get the other pics, I want to show you the awesome little gnomie!  Only the pic of her back and sweet braid made it so far...

Thank you so much, sugarsandwitch, you spoiled me rotten!  You have an awesome set of different talents, I wish I were so talented.

I was lucky enough to find TWO sets of stars in my mailbox yesterday!!!   Shocked

Here are the gorgeous stars and card from GoldenSunshine:

I was so excited to get the ornament (one tiny dent popped right out) - I love the tiny origami stars, and hadn't make the connection to realize that GoldenSunshine is also one of my partners, so it was a happy surprise!! Cheesy

And the second package from Grasshopper felt like Christmas, with each star individually wrapped in awesome stripey paper:

Inside were these super fun stars (I just love the eyes on the big wooden one Cheesy)

Totally unique idea on the bottom one, it is made from a recycled soda can - so cool!

Oh I love all the stars so far - the crochet (if only I could ever figure out how to do that!), the perler beads, our fun shiny tin ones, and of the latest, I love the multi-colored felt!  That looks like a lot of work - so detailed.

And, here are the very latest treasures that I received today from Kelli (zigg13pra)!

First here is the whole set:

I was *thrilled* to get the papercut stars saying "Jar of Stars" - Kelli and I were partners in the Jar of Hearts swap, and my Jar of hearts is adorned with heart shaped paper cuts - now my Jar of Stars will match, yay!!! Cheesy

And I love the one with my name on it, it is so hard to find stuff with my name (I'm sure most everyone can relate to that, for some reason it always seems like whatever name you want in something is always the one that is missing!).

I also love, love, love the multi colored one - it took a really good close-up (I had a hard time with some of the others), here it is:

And was very happy to get the fabric one, in my favorite color, to fill out my jar a little (sometimes the flat ones make the jar look a bit empty).  Smiley

Thank you for being an awesome swap partner again, Kelli!! Smiley

I got my first stars today, from xxmyjelloxx.  Super sweet - I love the variety of mediums and techniques.

There is a wooden sparkly pink one, a blue crayon one, a tin one, a woven one from recycled magazines, and an origami shiny purple one.  Here they are:

I am using a huge 1/2 gallon mason jar for my hearts and thought I could pop my stars in there also, but the stars are a bit wider and more rigid and won't fit through the mouth of the jar, so I'll have to find a new container to use just for them... I'm thinking a wide-mouth vase.  That means we have to have more swaps so I can fill up both jars!!   Grin

I received my last set of hearts today from r.forslund.  I love the pink ribbon heart - my mom went through 2 rounds of breast cancer before finally succumbing to myelofibrosis, so every time I see a pink ribbon I think of her.  I also love the adorable tiny paper hearts... Tiny things are awesome Cheesy
