21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Newbie Swap round 15 (signup toFeb 8; send out March 11/2011) on: February 14, 2011 07:53:54 PM
I spent the weekend cleaning my garage/studio/laundry room.  I was going to post before and after pics, but the before was too embarassing.  It had been a long time since I cleaned in there.

I know 2 of the 3 items I am making.  I am trying something new, but I have all the supplies and tools I need and even backup supplies in case I screw something up.  I should have the larger of the 3 items completed by the time I check in next week.

Hope all is going well with everyone, I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

I am always looking for new crafts to try.

Welcome roniwink! Which crafts are you looking to try? I'd love to know!

I can barely knit or crochet - I would love to be able to make amurigami, I have seen a lot of amazing ones on craftster.  I also have a lot of albums I would like to turn into purses, but haven't tried yet.  I would also like to make clothing and quilts.  I just learned to sew and have a way to go before I audition for Project Runway.  AND stained glass, one of these days I am going to make a stained glass panel.  My husband calls my work area the craft explosion.  I can't stick to one thing for very long or I get burnt out on it, so I need to have at least 3 projects in the air at once.  Currently, hair barettes made out of bass guitar strings, ninja turtle shells for my nephews, and purses for my mom.

Great to meet everyone, I enjoyed reading everyon's bios.  It looks like we have a great group.

OK, my bio:
I work from home and I work midnights, so I most likely will not check out posts/reply to messages until the wee hours of the morning.  I live in the United States near St. Louis, MO.  I have been married for 10 years to my best friend.  I have 2 teenage boys and lots of small nieces and nephews.  I am always looking for new crafts to try.  I like to make pet collars.  My dog, Shadow, always has one of my creations on.  Right now it says, I <3 socks because she loves to steal everone's socks and taunt them with them so they will play with her.  I like to make jewlery, and I sometimes make my own chams with polymer clay.  I like to work with glass and make stepping stones and mosaics.  I just learned to sew this past year and have made a few projects I am proud of, but I am still working on mastering clothing.  I have made a few purses, those are pretty fun.  My mom is my best friend and in the summer we go to yard sales every Saturday morning, and I love to buy stuff and turn it into something else.  I have a huge stockpile of albums, fabric, t-shirts, vases, etc, etc, that I have a ton of ideas for.  I just discovered felting, and I can't wait until summer to buy tons of wool sweaters.

I can't wait to see what everyone makes!

woot woot Smiley I guess I'm going to post my bio now.

I'm 17 (18 in like 2 months  Cool ). I've been a long time creeper of craftster, and I'm deciding to get involved in stuff on here lol. My crafting obsessions are crocheting, knitting, sewing, and knotting bracelets, I do stuff other than that too, like embroidery and cross stitch but not nearly as much as I do the other stuff. I'm from Ontario, Canada Smiley I love love LOVE Criminal Minds (Reid's my favourite :3 he's so adorkable!) and I also love Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries Smiley Me thinks that's everything. oooohhhh and I love music! O.O it makes the world go round! :3 random fact, people that say catsup instead of ketchup annoy me Tongue lol

Hey, you need to give some of us exception to your catsup rule, because I grew up with this in my back yard:

I was an adult before I found out that was the wrong spelling, LOL!!
25  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Wind Waker Link Comforter! :) on: February 02, 2011 11:17:29 PM
I agree with all the previous praise + great fabric choices, the greens especially.
26  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: ELVIS!! on: February 02, 2011 11:10:05 PM
I'm sure he loved it.  It looks awsome.  The back is great too.  I made a purple Elvis purse once and was surprised how many comments I got when I wore it out.  Everyone loves Elvis!
27  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Shark!!! on: January 31, 2011 11:30:11 PM
I made these shark mittens for my nephew for Christmas.  I started with the idea of embelishing premade mittens (ala Martha Stewart Monster Mittens on her web site), but decided to make my own from scratch.  I made them more like puppets instead of traditional mittens.  I had a lot of fun making them and he seemed to enjoy them.  My sister-in-law said he wore them to school the next day.

28  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: The Joker - Heath Ledger afghan on: January 12, 2011 09:31:42 PM
Amazing job!  You obviously put a ton of work into it.  The image choice and framing is almost as impressive as the actualy crochet work.  Again, just awsome!
29  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Captain Underpants on: January 12, 2011 09:26:04 PM
I hope your nephew appreciated it, it is awsome!  My kids are teenagers now, but we had every book and read the often.  Great book series for kids.  Great work!
30  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: polymer clay reverse stocking stitch Tutorial on: January 10, 2011 10:57:36 PM
Do you bake your clay in the oven or use a heat gun.  I just received a heat gun for my birthday and I'm excited to see if it makes much of a difference.  I love the bangle bracelet, gorgeous!
