11  Re: Terribly Important SOB - The Return GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: February 28, 2014 10:19:06 AM
I have received from Phizzychick The Phabulous so it's my turn to demonstrate my Importantness!

First up, check out the care in packaging - the map and cloth wrappers are sewn. SEWN! The bright tissue paper filled up the empty space in the box and kept my treasures safe.

Next up is the most incredible crown I've ever put on my Oh-So-Important Head. I love the side crystals and check out the dangly  butterflies and beads - they make a tinkling sound!

Action shot!

Here is a gorgeously sewn award that I am wearing on my pink shirt as I type. Sparklies!

My studio is complete now that I have this declaration hanging - check out all the fabulous detail work and those butterflies! I love it so much.

And last, here's a group shot with the extras Phizzy included - one of her AWESOME Union Jack canvases, a Raven & Union Jack button from a fellow maker (betcha didn't know Baltimore, our soon-to-be new city, is home of the Ravens!) and a card & postcard from her hometown of Chester. So cool!

I feel SO spoiled, Phizzychick - thank you so so so much!

12  Nurture ATB in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Killam Creative on: February 08, 2014 04:23:08 PM
I participated in the ATB swap and had the most wonderful partner - Knickertwist! I wanted to make something extra extra special. Smiley

An ATB (artist trading block) is a block of wood cut to 2.5" x 1.5" x 3.5". Of course, I had to put feet and a roof on mine. The husband cut it for me and put a hole through it. As it's turning out, I'm his best excuse to add new tools to his arsenal!

Inside is a bird nest with three eggs. I made them from paper clay, sanded and painted it a bone color. Once that was dry I speckled them with two brown paints.

On this side the word "nurture" is spelled out under the roof. I colored small wood letters with an olive Copic and attached to the greenery with a matte medium.

Thanks for taking a look!

I'm so glad you like it Knickers!

Thanks everyone! Here are a couple detail photos I want to share:

The charms on one side

The birdie on the other side

And the "nurture" lettering behind the bird

Ok swappers, you better sit down for this one! I have received the most spectacular ATB from Knickertwist!

I kinda rushed the pics tonight to get them up here - I'll post better ones tomorrow!

Knickers - it's FANTABULOUS! You gave me a hot air balloon and I fantasize about hot air balloons. You're the best!

15  Re: One Tiny Bird Thing Swap (OTBT) GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: July 24, 2013 09:13:31 AM
And now I'll share the wonderful wee matchbox cabinet from Avesthel. I love it! Even though it's hummingbirds I instantly felt like a magpie and wanted to stash shiny stuff in the drawers. Ha ha!

Thanks so much Avesthel!

16  Re: Wicked Children Altered Tin Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: August 29, 2012 07:22:03 PM
Behold the creepy fantastic-ness that is the Grand High Witch from Roald Dahl's The Witches as a child. Thisbirdsabsurd, this is a perfect interpretation of GHW - she's bald (of course, 'cause everyone knows witches are bald!) and really freaky looking - especially that right eye...

The 86 is Formula 86 Delayed-Action Mouse Maker, the substance used by the witches to turn children into mice...

I love the spider and web in the corner!

"The witch stalks the wretched child like a hunter stalking a little bird in the forest." (quoted from the book)

Really cool scalloped roof and glittery walls

The inside is fabric covered, much like the drapes the boy hides behind at the annual witches convention. Check out that face! Gah!

Formula 86, ready to be mixed in with sweets for all the little children!

Here's Bruno, unlucky enough to have a whole bottle of F86 poured down his throat - no delayed action there!

I am BEYOND thrilled with this tin! Thanks so much, Jen!

Yay! Canada post and the USPS got together and delivered Knickertwists wicked forest to me today. Knickers - I am so thrilled with my matchbox. Thank you thank you thank you!

The text on the front is "the tall trees loomed"

But wait! What happens when it gets dark and you're all alone? Do you go to the house with the flickering lights?

Enter at your own risk...

The lights inside do flicker, it just doesn't show on a 2-second exposure. Smiley Here's the hidden switch

Thanks so much!

Prepare to be jealous, my swapping sisters! I received from Tero today and couldn't be happier. Smiley

First of all, behold the Tower of Treasures and it's guardian, Fred.

Isn't he cute?

Yummy stone, ceramic, glass and lampwork - Oh my goodness the blues make me swoon!

Lovely charms and metal findings. Check out the fish in the front - AHHH!

There are so many fabulous bits and bauble, and here are a few of my favorites:

Tero - what's the story with the gold leaf? Is it a leaf that's been gold leafed? Hahaha...

And now, the best bauble of them all - a fabulous bracelet with loads of fun colors. It's perfect for everything!

I'm over the moon with this collection, Tero. Thank you so much!

19  Altoid Tins in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Killam Creative on: May 08, 2012 12:16:08 PM
Cackle, MissingWillow, Rackycoo and I got together last weekend for fun, food and fighting over good stuff at junk shops. We each picked a swap theme for an Altoid tin or ATC.

Here's a link to the ATC I made for Racky: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=408330.0

MissingWillow's theme was zombie sheep:

A mermaid for cackle:

It was such a fun weekend!

20  Beauty Queen ATC in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Killam Creative on: May 08, 2012 12:01:41 PM
Rackycoo, cackle, MissingWillow and I got together last weekend for fun, food and fighting over good stuff at junk shops. We each picked a swap theme and Rackycoo's was "child beauty pageants". The whole "Toddlers in Tiaras" movement really creeps me out, so I went vintage. It's atc-sized on a permanent stand.
