1  Re: in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: July 08, 2014 06:58:59 AM
I received from Mountains and Clouds then promptly fell off the face of the Earth/internet....

Edited to add pictures!

Here's the fun mini tin Mountains and clouds made for my Halloween theme:

Can you see the light? There's a wee switch on the bottom to light up the pumpkin's insides -- very hard to photograph but very cool to see!

Thanks so much Sara!

Yay! I can't believe it arrived so fast! The moon's wire can be straightened so he doesn't look like he passed out in transit. 😄 The pocket in front says: " She had the stars in her pocket and the moon on a string". I'm so happy you like it, MnC!

Here's another photo with the moon standing tall. You shouldn't have a problem bending the wire straight as long as you're careful.

3  Boo! Halloween Spool in Completed Projects by Killam Creative on: June 15, 2014 07:52:18 AM
I made this for pottermouth in the Altered Spool Swap. She had Halloween as a possible theme so I ran with it.

Here's one of the three spools - It was "stained" with a little bit of ink.

The raven spool was painted black and covered with papers, and the third is a tiny half-spool stuck to the back of the skellie. I used a wire hanger as the skellie stand - bent to slide into the top of the half-spool and stuck to a small stand at the base.

Come see the awesome Altered Spool Swap gallery here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=433749#axzz34XwBavCH

OK swappers, be prepared to be amazed. AMAZED, I say! After a crushingly long wait, the postie delivered pottermouth's fantastic spoolie art. OMG, is all I can say right now.

I give you the wonderful world of Fairy Hill.

Hand carved (?) doors and windows!

Carved cork doorway cover and pinecone seed window shades!

See what those fairies are hiding?

I am so thrilled with this, pottermouth! Thank you so much for your attention to detail and creative mind. I'm a lucky swapper!

5  Re: Altered Spool Swap (MAIL BY 6/18/14) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Killam Creative on: May 27, 2014 08:25:32 AM
Look what I found in a closet! *sheesh* I didn't realize I had all this stuff. The tall spool in the back is so full of awesome if you can disregard the fact that it looks like it's last job was as a chew toy for a doggie.

6  A Wee Wicked Forest in CHALLENGE 96 ENTRIES by Killam Creative on: March 03, 2014 11:46:06 AM
I made this for the Wicked Forest Altered Matchbox Swap, found here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=407942.msg4811588#msg4811588

I was lucky enough to have Knickertwist as a partner, and this is what I sent her. The matchbox was painted brown and covered with bits of moss and fungus. The cottage is made from paper clay, painted and distressed to look old. I made the tiny stepping stones from paper clay, also.

See the tiny cauldron? Also paper clay. Smiley The chipboard trees are painted brown, then green on top - simples!

Inside the matchbox is the cottage potions shelf.

It's hard to believe how small this really is, so here's a ruler for scale.

Thanks for looking!

7  Re: Terribly Important SOB - The Return GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: February 28, 2014 10:19:06 AM
I have received from Phizzychick The Phabulous so it's my turn to demonstrate my Importantness!

First up, check out the care in packaging - the map and cloth wrappers are sewn. SEWN! The bright tissue paper filled up the empty space in the box and kept my treasures safe.

Next up is the most incredible crown I've ever put on my Oh-So-Important Head. I love the side crystals and check out the dangly  butterflies and beads - they make a tinkling sound!

Action shot!

Here is a gorgeously sewn award that I am wearing on my pink shirt as I type. Sparklies!

My studio is complete now that I have this declaration hanging - check out all the fabulous detail work and those butterflies! I love it so much.

And last, here's a group shot with the extras Phizzy included - one of her AWESOME Union Jack canvases, a Raven & Union Jack button from a fellow maker (betcha didn't know Baltimore, our soon-to-be new city, is home of the Ravens!) and a card & postcard from her hometown of Chester. So cool!

I feel SO spoiled, Phizzychick - thank you so so so much!

8  Nurture ATB in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Killam Creative on: February 08, 2014 04:23:08 PM
I participated in the ATB swap and had the most wonderful partner - Knickertwist! I wanted to make something extra extra special. Smiley

An ATB (artist trading block) is a block of wood cut to 2.5" x 1.5" x 3.5". Of course, I had to put feet and a roof on mine. The husband cut it for me and put a hole through it. As it's turning out, I'm his best excuse to add new tools to his arsenal!

Inside is a bird nest with three eggs. I made them from paper clay, sanded and painted it a bone color. Once that was dry I speckled them with two brown paints.

On this side the word "nurture" is spelled out under the roof. I colored small wood letters with an olive Copic and attached to the greenery with a matte medium.

Thanks for taking a look!

Thanks everyone! Here are a couple detail photos I want to share:

The birdie on the other side

And the "nurture" lettering behind the bird

Ok swappers, you better sit down for this one! I have received the most spectacular ATB from Knickertwist!

I kinda rushed the pics tonight to get them up here - I'll post better ones tomorrow!

Knickers - it's FANTABULOUS! You gave me a hot air balloon and I fantasize about hot air balloons. You're the best!
