11  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2011 in The Swap Gallery by VanGo87 on: May 09, 2011 08:26:35 PM
VanGo87 and I decided on a personal swap because she had wanted some Red Vines, which aren't available where she lives, while we were both crafting for the A Very Potter Musical craft swap.

I finally got sdelnegro514's package from our "Candy from the Trolley" side swap from the A Very Potter Musical swap we met in. As mentioned above, I wanted Red Vines. We don't have them here in Canada (we have Twizzlers which I hate and always taste stale) so I asked if anyone was willing to swap them for Canadian candy.

As promised, I got Red Vines, Starburst jelly beans (I had these when I was a kid and then they were discontinued in Canada... They taste like childhood!!!) and some Wonka chocolate. I also got some American flags and a magazine from NJ!

Crafted items include a "Butterbeer" mug cozy, one of Rumbleroar's sleeping cubs and a crafted four-leaf clover (she knows I love my Ireland!)

I had a blast with this swap! Well done with your crocheted items, sdelnegro514! They are done beautifully!

Hey there everyone! I made these little Floo Powder necklaces for the A Very Potter Musical swap. They are made from salt and pepper shakers, glitter, cork and some jewelery bits and bobs.

Labels are hand stamped on gold painted paper.

I also made some in green and light blue (one for myself and another for my best friend).

For more photos on my other items I made in the A Very Potter Musical swap check my photobucket: http://photobucket.com/avpmswap

HEY YOU GUYS! This was totally awesome! Birdak and I met up (as she already mentioned) and had snacks and chatted with Pirates 3 in the background. It was a great day to be a dork. We took turns pulling items out of our boxes.

Our meeting.

Our boxes.

Birdak happy about her Ron headband.

MY APRON! Oh hells, yes! A Slytherin Apron!!! I will make evil cookies in this apron!

Packed love:
High School Musical box and key chain, Floo Powder Power (green tea) bath salt (with sparkles), ink, A QUILL!!!!, owl stamp, Death Eater sleep mask!!, Rumbleroar necklace with Saturn, Mars, a star and a Harry Potter charm, and a Slytherin crochet charm with green hook.

But wait!!! There's more!

Owl/steampunk paper, Tom Riddle notebook, Rumbleroar print pallet and Rumbleroar print (1/4). So in love with that print!!!

And finally....

"10 Points for Dumbledore" pillow case which I love!!! and prints which I love even more!

Birdak loving her oreos.

And look how dorky we are:

THANK YOU BIRDAK! I am loving every minute of this! Just know that I will be going to bed with Dumbledore and as a death eater!

15  Re: A Very Potter Musical Swap (SIGNUP 3/8/11-3/29/11 ; MAIL BY 4/26/11) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by VanGo87 on: April 27, 2011 05:24:18 PM
VanGo, I'm so sorry. That's crap!

And this ALWAYS cheers me up:

I hope you get some sleep tonight.

Sadly I didn't get any sleep. Tonight I hope for some as I am starting to zone out at times and fall asleep at my desk.

Good news: This post made my day. I declined the role as I don't think it fair for all the roles to be pre-cast then just audition for filler roles and that I can't keep up the commitment for something that small (traveling to and fro would be mega horrible).

Good news: totally ready to get my craft on! Let's start round 2!!!

A portrait of GIR!

Anyway... I'm going to roll around on the floor for a while, kay?
Good luck on your mission!
Love GIR"

Alright ladies! I am so excited my fingers are going faster than my mind and I am making several mistakes and having to correct them!!! SO HAPPY!

Karyn and I met up for a quick swap at my house. As soon as she left I tore open the packages and these are the wonderful contents below:

Picture of my boxes. I know I'll use the purple ribbon somewhere. I love it! I can't get enough bits and bobs to play with...

I opened the long skinny box first and out came this beautiful checkered green fabric that will one day be part of an apron?! Oh the possibilities!!! Underneath, however, is the source of my giddiness...

Slytherin and Gryffindor plaques straight from my wists! I want to put these in my kitchen one day! Thank you Karyn for stalking me!

I continued to unwrap and found a crochet hook holder in all my favorite colours: green, purple and grey!!! I already put my new hooks into their new home. Amazing!

The second box was filled with more beautiful fabric (that horror monster fabric will become a corset, with the busk that was thrown in as an extra added gift - thank you!!!), candles for my candle magic and some lovely green yarn! I was just complaining on my blog how I need more yarn! Perfect timing, Karyn!

Everything making me super giddy right now:

Thank you Karyn! You were a wonderful partner. I hope you enjoy everything in your package and that everything works itself out with your grandmother.

Keep Crafting,
Nessa

18  Parrots Needlepoint FINISHED Help wanted in Needlework: Completed Projects by VanGo87 on: February 02, 2011 07:49:07 AM
This is my first Topic Post on Craftster and I'm new here so please be nice.  Smiley

I've been in a needlepoint mood after I crocheted myself silly making Christmas gifts so I dug up an old project I haven't seen in years.

When I was about twelve I picked up a really tacky needlepoint kit at a garage sale for 50 cents. It didn't even have the original box. It was in a clear bag with the yarn, needle, and canvas and that was it. I ended up working on it for about a day or two and then was forgotten and misplaced during the move. We'll, I finally found it about twelve years later.

Below are my progress pictures. I finally finished it late Monday night as I was determined to finish it before I went to bed!

Progress: Day Three

Now, I have no idea what to do with it since I think it is utterly tacky. Any ideas would be great! I was thinking a pillow or a bag but I wouldn't use either...

More pics on my blog: Creative Alchemist!

Thanks!
-Nessa
