22  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / A Totoro Pillow :) on: June 25, 2011 09:33:03 PM
I wanted to make a totoro throw pillow to help decorate my bland apartment a little so I hunted down my box of embroidery floss and a couple old grey t-shirts and this is what I came up with.

This is my first real embroidery project and I am rather proud of myself  Smiley

And with the chi Totoro stuffie Smiley

Amidst working two jobs and trying to hunt down a new ford focus (the engine in mine is kaput), I have finished all my GD's!!! Now I just have to wait for partners to be assigned Smiley

Me too. I got about 36 done yesterday, and they were a set for verigated, but if none of my partners want them, I'll just take the multi colored ones out

good idea! ive already almost completely finished all of my squares for the varigated twist and i was thinking to myself yesterday, "what if nobody even wants varigated ones???" i never really thought about just taking out only the multicolor ones. haha. sometimes im a slow thinker....   Tongue

All of these GD's and GD creations are so wonderful! It makes me want to join the next round of swapping. Although it would be my first swap ever and I have no idea on how dc #'s are acquired...
28  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: heck yeah tomato pincushions!! on: June 01, 2011 08:31:05 PM
These are so cute. I just have a plain red one myself that I got from my great-grandma (I think?)

Btw... I absolutely LOVE your hair color. Is it natural? I dye my hair red because i prefer it over my natural color but it has never been as bright and wonderful as yours looks. Sorry if I'm being creepy, but I just love red hair. Haha
29  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: My Take on the Increasingly Popular Circle Jacket on: May 22, 2011 06:06:45 AM
Thank you everyone!

Lova: The pattern can be found here. It wasn't too difficult to make. The pattern is pretty much the same three rows that you just keep repeating over and over until it's big enough. Adding the sleeve holes isn't too bad either.
30  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My Take on the Increasingly Popular Circle Jacket on: May 21, 2011 07:09:24 AM
I've been looking at all the posts for the "Drops Circle Jacket" on the crochet board and I felt an urge to make one for myself. All the ones I saw were quite colorful and I didn't feel that I could pull off such a colorful jacket so I toned mine down with shades of purple. The entire thing is done with a cotton yarn so its quite comfy  Smiley

At first I added the sleeves (altering the pattern to make them more fitted to my twig-like arms), I made the sleeves only go to a 3/4 length because I felt I would like that better than full length sleeves.

But then once I finished the sleeves and tried it on I realized that I would actually prefer it without the sleeves. So I took them off and I am now quite happy with my new (sleeveless) circle jacket  Smiley
