I think that originality note is included in all challenge posts, to keep people from directly copying other people's work, or something old you made in the past.  If you look at some of the past costume challenges, you can see that lots of people do character costumes!  The originality comes from the fact that those people made them with their own hands, in their own way

I have some red polka-dot fabric laying around and I want to make a vintage-y dress. I found this photo online and decided that this is what I want to make, but I have no idea how to go about it or what kind of pattern to make for it. Any advice or maybe similar patterns?

Fantastic bunch of GDs! I'm intrigued by the green and white yarn used for the GDs in the upper right corner of the second photo. Can anyone tell me what kind of yarn that is?

I got the same GD's from Kittymom13. Its actually just a light green yarn that has a slight shine to it or something.

I received some wonderful GD's from Kittymom13 in the mail today! (Thank you SaralaAnne for passing them along to me )

I am currently in the middle of moving so my camera usb cable is m.i.a., but i will try and hunt it down and post pictures of my GD's from both SaralaAnne and Kittymom13 later tonight or tomorrow.

I'm glad that you and SaralaAnne liked them. I figured since it was my first swap I would try to go a little beyond the requirements and make a special bag for the squares

This is so awesome! And extremely cute! The little doggie tux would be perfect for my mom's small white lhasa/maltese dog. My mom is getting married in a couple months and that would be the cutest thing to have sammy in a tux there with us
