1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / 3D customized wedding dress card on: November 13, 2013 09:36:02 PM
After the 2D wedding card, I felt pretty good about my card making skill and decided to take it to the next level- 3D!!! Yes, and this time I am making the dress out of fabric instead of paper. I have no idea it would turn out this good (well, I have a vision, but you never know how these things goes until you try)! This wedding dress is a replica of my girl friend's actual wedding dress. So you can say this card is not only unique but also made just for her. After all, displaying a card is much easier than the dress itself and she will get to enjoy it more this way.

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / 2D wedding card on: October 28, 2013 12:39:35 PM
I never make greeting cards before but browsing the web there are lots of creative and unique cards makers. I love the idea of handmade and DIY because even though Hallmark cards are very lovely, it is a mass production which lack individuality. So today I will challenge a 2D wedding card for one of my girlfriends upcoming wedding.

Making these adorable pacifier jewelries as a party gifts for my girlfriends are super easy & cheap but special. This is also perfect for the occasion. We all wear it during the party and it looks great. Not a lot of skills or tools are required, i made 3 necklaces and 1 pair of earring under 1 hour. With a little bit of imagination, you can switch up the charms and make these unique handmade gifts for almost any party!

I did use some pre-made bows which I already posted a tutorial early on so please check it out if needed (http://www.diyfashiondiva.com/fashion/how-to-make-ribbon-bows). Other than that, all we need is some simple jewelry supplies like chains and jump rings and earring hooks. You can get all these materials online or in local craft stores for really good price. Much cheaper than buying already made gifts and these materials will last you a long time (at least for dozens of parties or just random gifts).

6  COOKING / Dessert / Blue Clouds Easy Cupcakes on: September 03, 2013 04:44:04 PM
Now this is more like my kinda lazy girl baking. All you need is a box of cake mix, a couple drops of food coloring and cover them with some instant icing and decorations you got these beautiful cupcakes for any party or gathering in under an hour. It is the perfect last minutes dessert.

My post entry link: http://www.diyfashiondiva.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Sandwich-2-pieces-with-filling-in-the-middle.jpg

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I made these cupcakes very often because not only they are easy and super tasty, you can literally have thousand of batches and no one will ever know they are technically the same thing over and over again. Ive made them for valentines day, birthday, housewarming party and now baby shower. The trick is different food coloring and icing, if you are creative, adding different topping accessories is super fun and will make your cupcakes stand out in any occasion. Dont worry if you are not too crafty, I will give you some great easy ideas in this post too.
Ingredients needed:
White cake mix in a box (any brand, you can use yellow cake also but bare in mind the coloring will be a problem.)
Instant Icing (if you are lazy like me, they worked great)
Food coloring
Baking cups
Step 1:
Follow the instruction and mix the batter using a whisk or hand mixer.
Step 2:
Add 2-3 drops of desire food coloring into the batter and mix till color is blend in evenly. If the color is not strong enough, add more drops.
Step 3:
Put cupcake liner in muffin pan and pour batter carefully without overfilled. (⅔ is the perfect amount)
Step 4:
Baking is easy, just follow the instruction on the cake mix box, most of them even have different time base on the cake pan size you are using for you as a guide. Tips: The best practice is bake at the lower time and check on it using a toothpick. If it come out clean after you stick into the middle of the cake, it is done.
Step 5:
Icing the cupcake is an art project. Base on your skill level you can do it in different ways. You can spread it with a butter knife, icing knife or pipe it in an icing bag with different tips. The good thing they will be delicious even they dont look the best. Using store bought icing is time saving, cheap and you got tons of choices.
Step 6:
Additional accessories is completely optional but it will make your cupcake unique and has the wow effect. For the baby shower theme, we made these cloud cutouts, color it with glittery nail polish wait till dry then tape the back of it on a toothpick and stick it on the cupcakes. For the birthday cupcakes, I added small plastic parts and fake flowers to make it look more fancy.
These mini cookies are often sold in French bakery for $2-3 per piece (you are probably thinking is it really so expensive? No joke!!!). Luckily if you follow my easy recipe, you can make it yourself for a much cheaper price making it a lot more affordable. The ingredients can all be found in you local supermarket and with less than $20 you can make several batches (20 cookies/per batch)!
So this is my first time trying to make anything from scratch, Im usually the box mix kinda girl (mainly due to laziness). But for my own baby shower, I decided to make it special. I look up macaroon recipe in Google and this is the first answer: Martha Stewart. It looked super easy so I gave it a trial run and it worked!
So heres the original recipe link: http://www.marthastewart.com/275448/macaroon-recipes/@center/276956/cookie-recipes
10  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Quick fix for my uncomfortable sandals on: August 22, 2012 08:21:44 PM
I like wearing sandals from time to time. Especially when I got to water park or the beach. I bought this pair of cute pink platform sandals back in Florida. I love the color and the design but the zipper in the middle always hurt the surface of my foot when i wear them. I always wanted to change it but didnt want to ruin perfectly nice pair of sandal for no reason.
A recently ripped on one side of the zipper give me a reason and a chance to repair and redesign this. I knew if i fix it earlier I would be able to enjoy wearing them more but it worked out this way too. DIY repairing  is always my specialty. It give me a great sense of achievement. Since i dont know how to make a pair of shoe from scratch, repairing them is the closest I will every get when it comes to design shoes.
