31  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Punk Leopard Print Nail Art on: September 11, 2011 07:37:42 AM
I am going to introduce a simple but adorable nail design that uses the nail stamping system I purchased online. This is probably the easiest but professional result that any beginner can achieve at home within 15 minutes. No drawing skill will be necessary at all so even kids can do it.

The only few tools we need for these 3 nail designs are base coat, top coat, nail polish & remover, nail stamp, scraper and design plates.

Using only 1 image to create this fun and bold style nails within seconds and it is ready to go. The punk style leopard print design creates a wild look. It is perfect for rock concert or the days that you just want to be a little different. Trust me, you will totally fall in love with this design.

Using 2 images from 2 different nail plates. We can easily create this tasteful and professional looking style nails within minutes. The lace trim around the edge is really the selling point for me. It is fancy and matches the gold base color scheme. This set of nails is perfect for weddings or just a normal day in the office.

Using 1 nail plates and its 7 images to create a set of young, colorful and sweet style nails. I am totally in love with the girls head image especially, that is why I named this the Pink Barbie design. I think this style is great for girly girls on a special occasion or a romantic date.

35  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Beach Dress Re-Design Tutorial on: August 18, 2011 10:42:59 PM
My post entry link: http://www.diyfashiondiva.com/fashion/beach-dress-re-design

Time to re-design/ re-purpose some of my old wardrobe. Old and out-dated clothes can use some update and re-design every once in a while. Changing the look of an old dress is not a very complicated task. I think we should all try to save our old clothes before buying new ones.

Nice work, i just bought a pair of ruffle heels from Papaya (25 dollars) and was planning to make a pair myself. Did you added the elastic in the middle using just hot glue? Will it fall apart after wearing? Or did you sew it on?

So pretty.  I am curious as to why you put new insoles?  Also what make of glue gun did you use? I have had bad experiences with them in the past - basically they gum up after a few uses and I end up throwing them away.  At least it seems to work for you.  Those shoes have turned out very dainty and princess-like.

I added new insoles because the original ones were missing and it look horrible, plus there were old glue residue so I need a layer that can cover the area and make it more comfortable for wearing.

I don't really remember the brand of my glue gun, but I know you it is for sale in Jo-ann, Michael's and other craft store for about 10 dollars. I had an old one earlier without trigger, but i really like the new one because you can control the amount and it is a lot safer. I love using glue gun, it is easy to use and the bond is strong, perfect for shoe fixing and art projects.

Here's a picture of the one I use.

Flower high heels are very popular in Japanese pop culture in the last couple years and the trend doesnt seem like is dying down at all. Making these floral accessories has become one of my favorite thing to do since I started DIY. About 15 minutes of your time and a hot glue gun can totally change your wardrobe from casual to fancy.

My tutorial will show you how to re-purpose your old heels and add some new flavor with minimum cost and tools. All you really need is a pair of shoe or heels, some plastic flower and a hot glue gun. This is a beginners level project so no other skills or tools are needed. Just 15 minutes of your time and about a 10 dollars budget, you will be able to make yourself a lovely pair of kawaii princess high heels. Compare to the prices in store, this lesson can save you more than $40 (USD).
