1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Silver spoon and copper macrame cattail necklace on: May 13, 2013 04:16:54 PM
The cabochon for this necklace was made using a piece of flattened copper pipe, found on the road and an old silver spoon.  The patterns on both layers were cut using a jewelers saw.  The button was made from a piece of spoon handle.  The necklace is knotted using c-lon cord.

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Poodle Skirt Applique on: July 20, 2011 05:04:31 AM
I was asked to make a poodle applique for a 1950's costume.  I used a felt base and vintage pink embroidery floss.  I used a bullion stitch to make the curls.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Metal spreader mermaid pearl necklace on: April 21, 2011 01:29:49 PM
I used an old metal spreader and cut it to look like a mermaid.  I cut the sand dollars and starfish from scraps left from cutting metal spoons.  The macrame work is done with linen on the outside, but the holding cords are nylon so that the fresh water pearls will not brake the cord as easily.
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Macrame owl necklace on: April 15, 2011 05:45:46 PM
I was playing around with different ideas for my etsy store, so I decided to revisit macrame.  I hadn't done any for years.  I made a cottolin owl pendant.  The perch and button closure are cut from the handle of a silver spoon.[img][/img]
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Matchbook covered jewelry box on: April 10, 2011 03:35:31 PM
I got this jewelry box at the thriftstore.  It had a paper-like covering that was in bad shape.  When I pulled it off I found out that while the box was wood, the top and the bottom were heavy cardboard and the drawer fronts were metal.  I covered the box with old matchbook covers then coated it with high gloss varnish.  I painted the hardware black.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hummingbird spoon necklace on: January 11, 2011 08:36:32 AM
My aunt asked me to make her a humming bird necklace.  I used an old silver spoon and cut the pattern in using a jeweler's saw.  The clasp is made with the spoon handle.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tree of life Collar necklace on: January 05, 2011 07:31:31 AM
I made this necklace using 5 silverplated ice tea spoons.  It is strung with African turquoise (aka jasper) and black glass beads.  I made the clasp from one of the spoon handles.
