Time to check a few more things off of my list.
After years of trying I finally made a pair of pants that fit well. I also made: a shirt for myself and a costume for my daughter. Next a variety of aprons and smocks. 50 more menstrual liners for Days For Girls charitable organization.Multitool Belt holders for the family.  They have belt loops on the back.

I love this craftalong!  So many inspiring items to see.
I also love being able to have a list for the year.  There is just something so satisfying about being able to mark an item as completed.
Here are a few of my newest items:
I should of done this one 5 years ago.  My desk is usable now that I have desk organizers to keep everything in check.  I made them from cereal boxes and scrapbooking paper. Along the same lines I made a pen holder with a snap and elastic to be able to use it on spiral bound notebooks.

a bunch of sunglasses holders for gifts and swaps I used this tutorial: http://threadridinghood.com/wordpress/made-by-me-monday-sunny-glasses-case-tutorial-free-printable-pattern/
I love this pattern. It uses plastic canvas as lining to make them sturdy and give more protection.  Next a  Vinyl window zipper pouch to store my embroidery in:

and a project that took ages to complete:  A new coat for my daughter.  I used the Jalie Lined Parka 2008 pattern.  The hat looks weird in the picture because she is wearing 2 hats- but normally it fits well.

Sorry I did not get this posted a few days ago.  Life has been so busy so far this year!
I received a wonderful package from Muddy21.  Everything was wrapped in yellow tissue paper and lots of sunshiney hearts.  She spoiled me with all the wonderful items she sent. First up:
I love the creative pincushion and pins.  She made it from a salt shaker! I would of never of thought of that. A beach themed container, a super speedy wind up fish, A duck brush, bubbles and ice cube gum, a sun brooch and scented candle and holder, Lemon tea and Lemon head chews.  The ribbon goes along with the upcoming garland she made me.

And even More gifts- A great lemon mug to go with my lemon tea, A scarf which I LOVE.  I have just started getting into scarves and this one is my new favorite.  A great stamp and waterproof zipper pouch. A set of Big Dice which will get use.  I am a Girl Scout troop leader and my girls will get a kick out of using these for our games.

She also made me A sunshine Mug Rug and a Heart Garland that is decorating my stair rail. It is made of paint samples so has lots of different yellows. I love both items!  For that matter I love everything. She sent so many creative items.  Thank you Muddy21!

I have been crafting like crazy since the new year.  But, I have not taken the time to post pics.  Here are a couple WIPS I finished in January- Of course I meant them to be done for Christmas but it always gets too hectic.  So, I am already for this next Christmas.
A couple of couch pillows (removable covers)  and an advent calendar with pull out tags that have an activity for the kids each day.

and a concession stand for my sons birthday party.  It was a movie theme.  My daughter had fun manning the station. I used printables from these blogs on it: (to be inserted in a bit when I track them down)

And a spring wreath  I just finished.  It is paper so it will go inside.

I received my 3rd package.  It is Wonderful!
She sent me a gorgeous crocheted shrug inspired by my ravelry favorites.  It fits perfectly.  It is the perfect compliment to my tank tops for summer wear. Great color to go with so many other colors too.

please forgive the front picture.  It does not show the shrug nearly as much as I would like.  My husband was concentrating too much on his picture proportions instead of what he was suppose to showcase- the shrug!
Thank You so much Nisforneville!

So many great crochet projects pinkleo and nisforneville.  You gals are rockin'.
I sewed 150 liners for one of my favorite charities: http://www.daysforgirls.org/

I am working on sewing zipper pouches to fill with some basic hygiene supplies to hand out to the homeless.  My children have asked why I never hand out money to the homeless with signs.  My grandmother ended up on the street due to severe alcoholism and gambling.  I was in middle school at the time.  I remember the stress and grief it caused my parents.  They had been trying to help and assist her for years.  Eventually they realized the financial support they were giving her was only being used for her addiction.  My grandmother disowned our family when the funds stopped.  And she ended up losing her home and on the street.  She ended up hitting bottom and being able to come back from it. She contacted my mom again and eventually they moved her to our state where she could have a fresh start.
I know that not all homeless spend money on addictions.  There are a lot of people that have other circumstances that make them homeless.  But I am hesitant to donate cash, except to the shelters.  But I thought that hygiene pouches would be a good way to be able to have my kids assist in giving to a cause that they are aware of and thinking about.
I ordered the zippers and now that the kids are almost back in school will hopefully crank out some pouches soon.

8  Wheel-thrown Pitcher Challenge Entry in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by plaidpineapple on: August 12, 2013 07:08:05 PM
Craftster inspires me to try new crafts.
I decided try playing with clay after seeing all the great work with Fimo done for some swaps I was in.  Working with Fimo led to my signing up for a Pottery class.
This Pitcher was made from cone 10 clay, wheel thrown.  I added a hand pulled handle.  The final glazes are "Emily's Purple"  and Semi-gloss White.

JULY-AUG 2013 Challenge Entry- Charity
I sewed 150 liners for one of my favorite charities: http://www.daysforgirls.org/
It is a charity that supplies reusable menstrual kits to girls in third world countries.  Frequently girls in these countries have to drop out of school once their period begins-due to lack of supplies.  I have sewn many items for the group before but it has always been with colored flannel.  The flannel I had is white so I needed to dye it.  (The girls hand wash the items and hang them out to dry and colored flannel liners hide stains and look more like just a normal washcloth making it less taboo for them to be drying on the line)  I have not dyed much in the past so I experimented with a few types- Dylon chemical dye, Kool-Aid and All natural blueberry juice leftover from making muffins.

And Another Challenge entry: For  updating my home ...used sizzix dies for the flowers. I also hand threw the pottery vase in cone 10 clay.

I also made some "Summer blocks" from wood, paper and mod podge

here is a picture of my almost updated shelf display:  (I want to repaint the angel garland one of these days)  The great 4th of July artwork was made by my daughter.
