3  Maryland Blue Crab Hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by mthrasher138 on: May 11, 2013 09:05:31 AM

This is a hoop I made for Glamis in the Sea Creature Swap. Blue crabs are a big deal where I'm from so I thought it would be neat to stitch one up. I colored it with crayons. Thanks for looking!

4  Wizard of Oz wall art in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by mthrasher138 on: May 11, 2013 08:57:38 AM

I made this for VegasZombie in the Wizard of Oz swap. I printed out sheet music for "Follow the yellow brick road" onto antiqued scrapbook paper for the background. I covered wooden letters in green glitter paper and the characters came from the discontinued "Magic of Oz" line by Graphic 45. Thanks for looking!

5  Re: Wizard of Oz Compilation Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mthrasher138 on: May 10, 2013 05:37:38 PM
I am so glad you liked everything VegasZombie! Thanks for the kind words- I always have swap anxiety.  Cheesy Anyways, now it's my turn to post. I received from VegasZombie on Monday, but my bathroom decided to flood the same day. So after dealing with that all week I realized I hadn't posted yet. So here are my goodies!

First she made me my very own tiny pair of ruby slippers! I'm thinking about adding magnets to put them on the fridge.  Smiley

Horses of another color! This is one of my favorite parts of the movie.

A beautiful tote made out of Wizard of Oz fabric!

A brightly colored tote! VegasZombie said that the colors and flowers on the fabric reminded her of when Dorothy landed in Munchkinland. It is really beautiful and I love it!

And a shot of the inside fabric of the tote.

Thank you so much for everything VegasZombie! You have some amazing sewing skills!

a zippered bag featuring a cross stitched jellyfish. This is the perfect size for my new phone!

a beaded hammerhead shark!

the cutest tiny amigurumi seal ever!

and a beautiful mermaid painting!

and the obligatory group shot including a handmade jellyfish notecard, Haribo gummi "sea" turtles, and hazelnut chocolate seashells.

Thank you so much Glamis for everything! You truly spoiled me and your skills as a crafter are amazing.  Grin

7  Retro Cookbook Clock in CHALLENGE 84 ENTRIES by mthrasher138 on: March 10, 2013 07:42:56 PM
My kitchen's theme is the 1950's. I'd been having a hard time finding a vintage clock that wasn't going to cost me an arm and a leg so I decided to make my own.

I picked up a copy of the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book at my local Goodwill for $3.00 and the clock movement kit and numbers from the craft store.

First, I drilled a hole in the cover.

Then I used an X-acto to carve out a recess for the clock movement to sit in.

The finished clock!

Thanks for looking!

8  Marvin the Paranoid Android Hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by mthrasher138 on: March 03, 2013 04:36:36 PM
This is a hoop I made for calixita for the Booklover's Swap. This was my first time using felt in a hoop and I stamped the words "paranoid android" on a piece of muslin I embroidered onto the background fabric. I used satin stitch for his eyes.

picture credit: calixita (her pic was better!)

As always, thanks for looking!

I made this hoop for loudxmouse for the Triple VS. Swap. She asked for something geeky for her husband.

It's based on artwork by Jose Pulido.

Thanks for looking!

10  Re: The Walking Dead Swap ~Calling all Walkers~ ROUND 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by mthrasher138 on: February 27, 2013 09:20:45 PM
I received a wonderful package from mariak today!

In the UK they have a brand of chips called Walkers! Genius of mariak to have the extras related to the theme of the swap!

Some magnets of my favorite characters and a personalized keychain with the periodic table symbols for walker and the phrase "keep calm and kill zombies"!

A beautiful purple project bag and a new zombie journal!

A bloodspattered zombie bite inside the journal

Also every few pages in the journal were zombie related phrases. This one is my favorite!

And the best for last! My very own Michonne inspired hoop AND amigurumi!

I am well and truly spoiled! Thank you so much mariak! I love everything! Cheesy
