Ooo I like all the beaded things!!
There are so many fantastic packages in this swap, and I love seeing how they reflect everyone's personalities!!

That being said, I received an absolutely AMAZING package today from tarteaucitron!  It was all so beautifully wrapped too!

First, a postcard with awesome pictures of South Australia, way cool puffy Australian animal stickers, a super cool pen, and delicious (somehow I already know this Tongue ) chocolates!

A beautiful felt seahorse ATC!  (I am a huge ATC collector/swapper) Also, an adorable amigarumi octopus, and a little wonky (also one of my themes) monster!

I love this little octopus; he shall serve as my learn-to-crochet inspiration!

Also, the little crochet monster opens up when you squeeze him!

And inside, a pea-pod pendant!

There's more!

Cool Australian stationery, the funniest bookmark (!), recycled paper ATC blanks, and a little echidna stamp!

I love these thick paper blanks!

and the little stamp!

And the last few things:  (The other side of the bookmark), a very cute music purse (I'm a musician by profession), ...

Sea-themed beads:

A moon-on-a-string keychain, and tree of life brooch!

And lastly, a teeny tiny stationery set!

Oh my gosh, what a fantastic idea!

Wow, this package has made me sooo happy!  I can't even pick a favorite item; everything is so wonderful and thoughtful!  (but I may have to pick the little one-eyed monster, since it's such a fantastic idea!)

Thank you so much, tarteaucitron!
I'm so glad we had this swap!  Smiley Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

233  Fab Origami Shoes in CHALLENGE 75 ENTRIES by Mountains and Clouds on: June 04, 2012 05:55:44 PM
I was working on this project for a fellow craftster when I realized it fits right into the theme of this challenge!

I wanted to alter a pair of very high heels.... and what better to do it with than origami?
I decided I wanted a repeating design pattern, and chose hearts!  Then folded and folded and folded and folded....

And after starting to put the origami hearts on the shoes I realized I had to go back and do a lot more folding! (haha!)

When the shoes were finally covered, I sprayed them with many many layers of shellac to help protect them!

I used red, white, black, silver foil, and red foil origami paper.

Here are just a few more pictures!

Thanks for looking!

Wow, that pirate ship box is awesome!

I also received an awesome box today!  It's from Hgddm!

First, the box:

She was inspired by my zen garden theme and made it into a koi pond!

And inside....

Lots of cool little things!  I love the glass panda bead!

Also, the little poly clay beads, inspired by my username;

And I could not, for the life of me, get a good shot of these guys, but I think they're really cool!

Thank you, hgddm!  I love it!

I have some new cards to show!!!

From Quasior, for my "Zen Garden" theme:

(wow, so sorry about the fuzziness... I just noticed it.... I'll try to remember to take another pic!)
I love it!
I also can't believe that it made it all the way from Australia in a plain old envelope (with just a tiny tear)!

Also, from Jennden, for my Hawai`ian theme... Pele!

(I guess I'm having trouble photographing today...)
I love this!  She used pouring fluid, and it's beautiful!

Thank you, both!  These cards are awesome!

Yay!  I have some more fun ATCs to show off!!

From Zeivin, for my Hawai`ian Language and folklore theme:

I love it!  She also sent a letter referencing the White Dog legends surrounding the islands and Pele, the fire goddess.  This card is in reference to the white dog appearing near the observatory on the summit of Mauna Loa (the ever flowing volcano on Big Island) a week before an eruption.

Also, she sent an extra that she had made and decided it wasn't up to her standards (but I think it's fantastic!)

I also received from Fancybutch for "moon on a string:"

It's Astro-Moon on a String!  Awesome!

She also sent some extras and it was in a super cute card!

And then, I received an awesome card from Deathbeforedishes for the same theme:

It's all sewn!  Way cool!  (and I LOVE the star in her pocket!!)

Wow, I feel so spoiled with the cards I've gotten in the mail this month!  You guys all rock!  Thank you!

238  Paper doll prints! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Mountains and Clouds on: May 23, 2012 05:55:46 PM
Hi everyone!
Lately, I have been inspired by Pilarfarmer, from whom I received an ATC with a tiny paper doll on it.  I couldn't leave the idea of paper dolls, and just had to get into them and spend some time with the idea.

I actually decided to make paper doll prints, so that I could reproduce them, and maybe eventually play around with the idea of mixing and matching the different parts!

I then went ahead and carved a ballerina doll stamp:

I admit, I am not sure of the measurements, and just kind of eyeballed it, so I apologize if the proportions are off!  Undecided

The best part is that you can make many many dolls from one piece of cardstock, and try different color combinations and media!

After testing this print the first time, I ended up carving new arm segments.... these were weird and tiny!

Here are some dancing ballerinas!

For the joints, I couldn't find brads big enough, and ended up using jewelry pins (and bending them into a little loop on the back).   I have been informed by Pilarfarmer, though, that scrapbooks.com has micro brads which are a good size!  (At least for ATC sized paper dolls! YAY!)

Then, I also carved a Harlequin/Pierrot character:

And now, here are just a few action shots:

Thank you for looking!  These have been a lot of fun so far!

Alright!  Here are the fabulous cards I have received lately!!

from Bunny1Kenobi for artist's choice:

It's adorable!  Yay spring!

And from Deathbeforedishes for my "local coffee shop" theme:

Her local shop is called "The Cup."  Did you take these pictures, deathbeforedishes?

From witchhippie, for "moon on a string:"

It's a kite!

And a very similar one from Geekgirl1000100 (did you guys meet up? Tongue ):

Sorry the picture doesn't show it, but it has a cool painted background, and sparkly glittery stars!

GeekGirl1000100 also sent an extra for my coffee shop theme:

She used bits from the starbucks logo!

Yay!  Thanks everyone, for the awesome cards!!

Yay, what a fun Disney trip!

Aurora and I spent some time at a nearby Tea Garden yesterday.  She liked watching the koi swim in the stream.

We also found a sala (pavillion) from Thailand!

It was a peaceful afternoon!
