151  Re: MINI 12 Days Of Christmas Swap 2013 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Mountains and Clouds on: November 27, 2013 09:12:01 AM
I received my package from Lindy and it's softly whispering, "open me!"

I'm super excited, since I almost forgot that I get a swap package in return! Eeeeee!

DAY 1!

Lindy sent these beautiful wintery necklaces and awesome Christmasy counted cross stitch kit!  I'm off to play in the pit for "Elf" at a local theatre this afternoon, and I'm totally wearin one of tees and bringing the kit for downtime.

Thanks so much, Lindy!

Day 2:
An LPS Blythe friend for my Blythe dolls and monogram notecards!

Day 3:

This awesome wintery crafty supply box, and some simply beautiful hair ties!  Love!

Day 4:
I am starting to feel really extremely super spoiled by Lindy! (and feeling like the package I sent wasn't sufficient...)
She sent this amazing package for my Blythe Dolls!  Wow, so much fun!  A lovely crochet Santa coat, socks, and boots, and hair ties, and a tiny gingerbread house!  Also, a pattern and some small print fabric!  (It's hard to find small prints for these girls!)
Thank you Lindy!

Day 5:
this awesome cupcake assortment.
A notepad, key fab, a "pocket pedi" kit, and a cute earrings/necklace set with polyclay cupcakes!

(sorry for the icky pictures, it's still dark here!)

Day 6:

This lovely christmasy tag set!  Holiday colored tags, baker's twine, alphabet stamps, and ink!

Day 7:
This is amazingly awesome!  An art journalling book (I really want to skip work and just read this all day and make stuff!), and a bag full of fun paper crafts and chipboard doodads!  Love it so much! (And am getting inspired to spend more time with art journalling and assemblage!

Finally catching up.... I haven't been able to get to a computer for a while!
DAY 8:

Great altered matchbox ornaments! (Which open, and you can keep things inside), delightful flameless candle snowmen ornaments (super cute!), and some hilarious tissues.

Day 9:

Awesome!  A mug rug and a cozy!! (and some delicious tea! YAY!) I love these colors this time of year, since we rarely get these colors by themselves.

DAY 10:

I love this embroidered bunting!  It's so snowy and wonderful!

*Ooops and I forgot to mention these extras!  A nutcracker ornament, some clear ornaments, and cocoa!

I love this!

Day 12:
OMG a Lindy shrine!

Check out the detail all around:

One more shot without the plastic on front, since I'm having trouble with glare!

Wow!  I feel incredibly spoiled.  Thank you so much, Lindy!

153  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 18 - GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Mountains and Clouds on: November 18, 2013 08:25:35 AM
hi everyone!!
Sorry I'm a little late this week.... Now that the little visitors should all be settling into their new temporary residences, Here's this week's challenge!

Show us something local!  It can be something distinct to only your area, a famous landmark, or just something locals like to do!

I'll start! Yesterday, Gramayre and I wandered around Waikiki a little and got to see Diamondhead from da beach!

So sorry I am so late in posting this!  I am finally at home long enough to look through the awesomeness that Arwenjade sent!  (Also, apologies for the not-too-great photos.  I usually take pictures on the lanai where the light is better, but it's been raining for several days)

Anyway, AJ sent an amazing package filled with so much fun!

First of all, a bunch of fabric with tiny prints along with tiny snaps, buttons, lace, and ribbon for making doll clothes!  (OMG I think those are the tiniest buttons I've ever seen...)

She also sent a great stash of papercraft supplies!! (including stencils and embossing powder)

And she sent a big envelope full of awesome magazine cuttings, stickers, and other ephemera!

Wow!  Thank you so much, Arwenjade!  This was a fantastic finish to a super crazy week!

Gramayre arrived a few days ago, but I've been so busy with work, he's been getting a little ornery and restless!  He's nearly eaten all the candy he brought with him! Tongue

Hopefully once this week is over, we'll have a chance to get out and do something fun!

Our blog will be here: http://www.mountainsandclouds.com/gramayres-hawaiian-holiday.html

Due to a last minute turn of events, Anuenue decided she wants to go on another trip, so she's headed across the world right now!  Here is a picture of her, getting ready for the holidays last year!

I hope everyone is okay with the quick send-out date. I wanted to make sure the LVs are well on their way before the holidays, and maybe some of them will even make it before Halloween!

Here's my LV for this time. Anuenue is going to take a break from traveling and here is her sister, 'Uluwehi.

(She's probably going to need something more substantial to wear, depending on who she ends up visiting!)

This is a LONG swap.  This cannot be your first Craftster swap; no exceptions. Please understand that I don't want anyone to go MIA, so you are required to check in and post in this thread once a week for the entire swap. (I will help out by posting questions and/or photo challenges to keep the thread moving!)
I reserve the right to refuse anyone. If you have feedback that shows a history of incomplete packages, late sending, ill-communication, lack of DC #'s, etc. I may refuse you. I want this to be a flake-free swap!

You will send a Little Visitor (LV) to your partner by October 29th, along with a BIOGRAPHY (likes/dislikes/personality traits) and CONTRACT. Your partner will sign the CONTRACT and send it back to you ASAP. The contract is so that they promise to love and care for your stuffy as if it was their own and to send it home when the LV visit is over.

Here is a sample contract from one of the previous rounds:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzzHcTlycpcMWnU2STVfUlhkZVE/edit ( created by Phoenixfiredesigns, thank you!)

Here is a sample BIO from the one of the previous rounds:

You should work on finding/crafting/choosing your LV and writing his/her/its bio as soon as you are approved for the swap, since the first send-outs are less than a week after partners are matched up.

Post a photo of your LV in the thread.

Once you are accepted into the swap you must post in either this thread or the gallery at LEAST ONCE A WEEK the swap organizers will be checking this. If you are going to be away please let us AND your partner know. Failure to check in will be reflected in your swap feedback comments.

Once you receive your LV, show them around! You should visit at least 10 different areas/parts of town/activities so that they can get the real experience of your community. Of course, the more places they visit, the better! And be sure to take lots of pictures to send home with your new friend!

You will be required to send at least 15 printed pictures in a scrapbook/journal type thing. I know not everyone is a scrapper/paper crafter but please do you best to send something you are proud of. I highly recommend sending any additional pics on a CD or even a link to your Flickr/Photobucket gallery of your Little Visitor.  Many people like to create a blog for their little visitor!

You are also required to send 3 souvenirs/ mementos from the LVs trip. The souvenirs can be crafted, bought, or both. Try to send souvenirs that are unique to your area! In previous rounds, craftsters have made their little visitors outfits or accessories, so you may do that too if you like. Discuss how much you'd like to send with your partner.

Send your LV home by March 1, 2014. I know that's a long time for the swap to go on, but we want to give the LV's as many holiday excursions as possible! If you'd like to send the LV back earlier, again please discuss it with your partner.

IF YOU ARE MAILING WITHIN YOUR OWN COUNTRY, YOU MUST GET A DC NUMBER when you send your own LV and when you send your partner's LV back home! If youre mailing internationally, you MUST KEEP YOUR RECEIPT (or other proof of mailing that is approved by me before sending)! And I require a picture or scan of the postal receipts so I can verify that you did in fact mail your LV to your partner and also when you have sent your LV back home.

To Reiterate:
* Post a photo of your LV in the thread
* Send your LV, his/her/its bio, and the contract to your partner by October 29, 2013.
* Sign your partner's contract and mail it back AS SOON as you receive the LV.
* Take your LV around town and show them the sights! Make sure they have fun, and stay safe!
* Post photos of your adventures in the gallery
* Make the scrapbook/journal and make or buy some souvenirs for the LV to remember its trip by.
* Mail the LV, the scrapbook/journal, and the souvenirs back to your partner by March 1, 2014.
* Contact organizers when you send/receive - you MUST supply DC# or receipt EVERY time you post something.

Once you are matched up with your partner, please stay in contact with them! If you haven't heard from your partner in a while, please let me know right away. I hope we don't have any flakers, but if we do, it's better if we catch them quickly.

THIS IS A COMPLICATED SWAP AND ITS LONGER THAN MOST. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read everything before you sign up, and make sure you can commit to everything.

- Small is better than large. Not only do you have to ship it, your partner has to ship it back! Also, small LVs tend to be easier to haul around town than large ones. ALL LV's must be UNDER 8 inches tall by 6 inches wide. We have had issues with LVs being too large to bring in a purse etc.
- Swaps arent perfect, and neither is the mail system. Please dont send something youd be heartbroken to lose. There have also been flakers in previous rounds.
- For better photos, send a LV that is pose-able (this is just a suggestion, most will not be pose-able, and that is ok)
- Your partner might have allergies, so its best not to send something your cat loves to cuddle up with or thats been sitting on a shelf next to your incense collection!
- LV doesnt have to be a stuffed animal, feel free to send some sort of a doll/plastic toy/stuffed animal/poppet instead!

If you want to participate, PM me your info (see below) AND post here on the thread. That way Ill know that youll get notification of anything I post here.

Please put LV SWAP ROUND 18- Approval as the subject!!! Send your completed questionnaire to the organizer (Mountains and Clouds). Failure to do so may delay your entry into the swap.

*Please note* If you would like to sign up with a partner, both people must submit a questionnaire. You WILL NOT be added to list until both questionnaires have been received.

What size is your LV?
Any type of LV you would not like to host? (for example, I do not like clowns, so I would not enjoy hosting a LV that is a clown, *shudder*)

Do you have/have access to a camera?
Can you fulfill the 15 printed pictures requirement?

159  Re: Little Visitor Round 17 - Summer Vacation! in The Swap Gallery by Mountains and Clouds on: October 19, 2013 08:19:58 PM
Hi everyone!
First of all, sorry for being away from the computer for a bit...  but we are thinking about the next round (round 18!), and I am wondering if you guys would be fine with having sign-ups as early as this week (like, tomorrow, perhaps) with send outs by the 29th or 30th of October?  And then, final package sendout would be mid to late February.
Feedback is welcome!

Also, I received an amazing package and book from KodaNRoxyDogs!
Anuenue had so much fun this round in Oregon, but she's happy to be back home!  She's thinking about taking a break from traveling for a little while-- she's so exhausted!

Here's a shot of all the goodies!

ONe of my favorites is this awesome pencil holder with tree cut-outs!

There were also many delicious things... like toffee, Juanita's chips (we can't wait for the perfect opportunity to try them), local specialty nut butters, local coffee, and a bag of Cosmos (carmeled corn puffs) which somehow were MIA for this photo.....

The book was also fantastic!  Anuenue did so much fun stuff!

Thanks so much, KodaNRoxyDogs!!!

(P.S. please, everyone, remember to post pictures of your LV's once they return back home!)

Oh wow!  I am super jealous of all you guys with amazing sewing skills!  So many beautiful quilts and bags....  And the Harry Potter shrine!  And those capes!  Those capes!  (taking a break to update my wishlist)

My third package to be sent to dharma_rebel is still camping out at home, due to a post office debacle this week, but they will be sent out tomorrow, and I hope they get to her soon!

In the meantime, my third package has arrived here, and my Blythe dolls are super excited!

Here is 'Ilima, modeling with the awesome wardrobe Rachel sent!

I love the little details!

Super cute hat and shorts!

'Ilima loves the embroidered octopus dress and crochet necklace!

She also wanted to show off the awesome shorts, but we didn't have a shirt handy, so I'll be back after a little bit of editing.....

Here are the fun shorts and hat!

We love everything!  Thanks so much, dharma_rebel!
