Thank you!  I got the painter's tape idea from Boo Davis' book.  There is a lot you can do with straight lines too!

this quilt has been catching my eye every time i look through this section. i don't know how many times I've clicked on it to look at it. the quilt face is beautiful and i especially like the back. it's simple, modern and sophisticated.  sometimes we spend so much time on the front that the back just gets neglected.

Thank you so much!  I am really happy with it and I even make my bed everyday because of it.  I pieced the back a little because the members in the modern guild I am in  really ramp up expectations for the back!  Also, the back is like a little secret for me : )

This is fantastic.  Three transparencies sounds quite complex.  It looks great.

And yes, we sometimes forget that carnivores (no matter how cute and furry) do eat other animals.

Thank you!  The black stencil was the most detailed.  The other two were just the white overall and the red (blood) spots.  The black one did take some time to cut out.

I redid an old sewing table to use in my kitchen.  My man rails against people who find polar bear cute insisting they are blood thirsty and not to be trusted.  I made this stencil to honor his cause by combining a regular stencil with a seal pup picture.  I used a heated stencil cutter and three transparencies.

What a sweet design, completely unique, and with your modern design and contemporary fabric crafted in traditional style elements, it's also pretty timeless.  I have no doubt your friends will be thrilled, and their baby will be using it long after leaving the crib.

PS - Will be stopping at my public library later today to pick up whichever of the five or six Judy Hopkins books listed in the online catalog are still on the shelf....
