Having looked at more diaper bags than I ever wanted to (when the daughter was expecting), and not liking any of them, all I can say is I wish I had seen this then...it's fabulous!!!

I like your dragon! I like the color combo, too. How did you do the eyes? Did you make the dragon in your avatar?

Thanks! I personally feel, for a dragon, she's a little too pastel, but this was a custom order, so my taste didn't really enter into it.

The eyes are a real PITA...a resin pour in a "special" rubber mold, waiting until it hardens enough to support the glitter backed glass marble, then several (and I do mean SEVERAL) coats of glow in the dark liquid clay...basically a 3-4 day project, which means I make several sets at a time. My craft room looks really creepy when the lights go out and all these eyeballs are just glowing away ~_^ As for the dragonette in my avatar, yes, that's another of my obsess.... er, um, creations...polymer clay.

Great work.  This is a really interesting design, did you pattern it yourself?

Thanks, and as for patterning it myself, kinda sorta. It's losely based on a dragon that was given to me that my daughter kept trying to steal. I figured if I made her one of her own, she'd leave mine alone.

@gotgrey: Kind words for which I thank you...for myself, I prefer a bolder mix of colors...black body with irredescent red wings, etc.

This was made for a friend's daughter, so I take no credit/blame for the color combo Wink

Body is made of a faux leather fabric, and stuffed with 2 full pounds of poly pellets, the wings are constructed of lycra/spandex dance material, and face jewels are agate rounds and a black lipped shell

Eyes are a combo of resin, polymer clay, glow-in-the-dark paint, and glass marbles

Wing jewel is a glass marble with glitter backing

Tail jewels are black lipped shells

As a newbie here, this is my way of introducing myself and some of my projects. These dragons really aren't for playing with, although they do ride on your shoulder really well. The body and wings are fabric, the eyes are a combo of resin, glow in the dark polymer clay and glass marbles.
