LOVE the stencil!! What paint did you use to make it so evenly white?? It looks great!

Murali

It's just regular white fabric paint, applied with a sponge brush.

eeeee!! i love the crow!! its insanely awesome. somthing about it. im just drawn to it. may you post the stencil....please!?

I made the stencil from a bird guide, so I don't have it in digitized, post-able form...sorry.  I'd suggest checking out your library, especially a university library, for good bird/animal pics.
43  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Best ropes for tying up my boyfriend? (Ok, it's another sewing machine question) on: October 15, 2005 09:55:55 PM
Having learned to sew on my great-grandma's Singer and then struggling to continue on my aunt's tempermental 70's machine, I'm ready for a new one of my own.  I'm not extremely experienced, but I do want something versatile that will keep its usefulness as I improve.  I'd also like something pretty sturdy, since I sew denim pretty often.  I've been poking around the internet, and these seem like good bets (and within my price range).  Anyone have any advice or opinions?  Are there any brands you reccomend?  What about  advantages of computer vs. electronic machines?  Thanks all!

44  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / dyeing cashmere? on: June 03, 2005 03:46:54 PM
I got a great cashmere sweater for like 5 bucks at a flea market.  The only problem is, it's bright coral pink and it's just a little too intense for me.  I was thinking about trying to dye it black, but I have no idea how to go about it.  It's a pretty thick, dense knit, so I'm not even sure how to get the dye to penetrate it completely.  Have any of y'all tried anything like this?

That's beautiful!  I'm sure there would be a market for things like it.

I LOVE this.

This was formerly a baggy, long-sleeved, high-necked top.  I ripped out the bottom hem, made it smaller, rolled up the sleeves, cut the binding from the neck to make the tabs at the sleeves, hemmed the neck (SUCH a pain), added buttons from my mom's button box, and finally stenciled a crow on it.  The stencil is kind of wonky but it worked better than I expected.
