did you use a pattern or 'muddle through' on that as well?

Nope, I'm no good with patterns.  I just made it up as I went along.

I made this skirt out of five old cloth napkins and a linen shirt, all from my favorite dollar-per-pound thrift store.  I didn't bother to unstitch the hems of the napkins, meaning I didn't have to hem anything except the waistband (I am lazy!).

The button and zipper were salvaged/thrifted as well.  I don't really know how to put in a zipper, and the buttonhole function wasn't working on my machine, but I muddled through.
