1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / yarn substitutions? on: August 25, 2005 06:33:14 PM
ok all you expert knitters out there I need some help, I am fairly skilled at knitting but am horrible at knowing which yarns substitute Sad
I REALLY want to make the anouk pattern on knittys site but was wondering if there were some cheaper yarns I could use, I was thinking maybe lion brand cotton ease? Let me know what you all think.

Thanks!!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HELP!! I'm not sure if i'm doing this correctly! on: April 18, 2005 01:25:53 PM
I'm trying to make this baby sweater....http://members.tripod.com/lwalters1-ivil/bauble.html

the instructions say this:
R9: k3, *k1, insert needle under horizontal strand of row below (between sts) and knit this st, repeat from * across, ending k4 (47 sts)

does this mean that i'm knitting the yarn between the stitches on my two needles?? that's what i did and it doesn't look right to me...someone please help!!!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / scarf! on: March 07, 2005 08:00:56 PM
So I finally finished this scarf that I had started at christmas and I love it!! These pictures don't show the color well at all, it looks very red when it's really a bright pink  Sad oh well....at least I'm able to post pics of it.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my first post...a few FO's on: March 02, 2005 03:43:42 PM
so I probably am doing this wrong, but it's my first post...I've been reading everyone elses posts for awhile now and I just want to say great job to everyone and their work!! Here's a hat I finished recently for my bf, he wanted orange in it so I went to the thrift store and bought a little kids sweater and took it apart for the orange yarn. It was so cheap and really easy to do I recommend doing this if you only need small amounts of yarn or if you find a neat sweater.....and the baby sweater was my first attempt ever at a sweater. I have to admitt I'm pretty proud of myself it turned out really well. It still has no buttons because I'm waiting to hear if it's going to be a boy or a girl. Smiley
