41  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2013 in The Swap Gallery by dfabbric on: August 20, 2013 03:25:45 PM

I received a rainbow pony from Mama24boyz for some embroidered pony eyes. Since I sent her pony eyes, I didn't want her to use them on this pony, so I added the eyes after. My son wanted a Rainbow Dude, so I added boy eyes, 1 blue and 1 green.

43  One eyed Kitty in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by dfabbric on: May 29, 2013 10:30:49 AM

This Hello Kitty doll was a gift to me from my pen pal in Japan, when I was 16. I have since then given it to my daughter and the eye popped out, maybe because it was old, I'm not sure. ANyway I didn't want a big hole there or to throw it away, so I made it an eye patch. I embroidered a design on it, the sewed the eye patch shape. I cut a hole in the back and turned it right side out. I didn't bother fixing the hole, since I sewed the patch onto the doll over the eye hole. I sewed on some ribbon and that was it. We now have a One Eyed Kitty, not to be mistaken with One-eyed Willy.

Makes me think of Chopper from one piece. It's so cute. I want one. I did put pony as a theme, so maybe.

45  Skip Beat dolls in CHALLENGE 86 ENTRIES by dfabbric on: May 03, 2013 01:40:38 PM

I made these 2 dolls for IssikahJai for a Manga/Anime swap. They are made from Ghillie's Cupcake pattern.
They are Ren and Kyoko wearing non-removable felt clothes. I had a lot of fun making them and wanted to put as much detail as I could. Ren has a chain on his Jacket and Kyoko has her Princess Rosa necklace as well as a zipper on her jumpsuit. Their shoes are duct tape. In the manga Kyoko is always making dolls of her friends (sort of like Voodoo dolls) so I wanted to make them like she does in the manga. Hope you enjoyed looking.

I received my package from Green R my tear$ today for the Personal Spring Sweet & Easy Novelty Fat Quarter swap.

I really love it, the scarf is so soft and well made. It's an infinity scarf since the picture is hard to tell.
Thank you so much Green R my Tear$.

Got my Package from wwrich. It's so awesome. I love everything so much!!

There was so much stuff. A locker, dinner booth, food and cereal boxes. They even have mazes on the back. And the best a Deuce Gorgon doll. My daughter was so excited and loves everything. She couldn't wait to show daddy everything and her and my son have been playing Monster High all evening. I stole the monster high diary for myself, it's just too cute and I love the rainbow cake, I wish it were real. And the trampoline is stretchy and actually works to an extent. Everything is so great. Thank you so much wwrich.

The pictures are from rubber stamps that I bought from an online store www.thegreetingfarm.com
They have a bunch of different variations of those girls and guys (named Anya and Ian).

Here's the dress pattern I said I would post. I call it The Cake dress.

49  Monster High Crochet Dress pattern in Crochet: Completed Projects by dfabbric on: April 14, 2013 08:42:54 PM

The Cake Dress
Using Aunt Lydia's crochet cotton, beads for buttons and a steel crochet hook. Mine was my grandmothers and says 7 on it, but I think it's really old and has no relation to now sizing. As far as gauge I just to the first 2 rows and measure around the dolls waist. In the pattern there is ways to make it wider if necessary.

Cast on 25
R1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, turn (24 st)
R2: Ch2, (counts as dc) dc across to last stitch, 2 dc in last stitch. Turn (26)
R3-5: Repeat R2 (32)
R6: ch 1, 2 sc in 1st dc, sc 11, skip 1, 5 dc in next, skip 1, sc 2, skip 1, 5 dc in next, skip 1, sc 11, 2 sc in last. Turn (38)
R7: ch 1, 2 sc in 1st st, sc 17, skip 2, sc 17, 2 sc in last stitch, Turn (38)
R8: ch 1, sc 17, sc2tog twice, sc 17 (36)
R9:ch 1, 2 sc in 1st, sc 16, skip 2, sc 16, 2 sc in last (36)
R10:slip stitch across 5 stitches, ch 11, skip 9, slip across 8, ch 11, skip 9, slip in last 5, dont turn.
R11: Going down the side, sc 2, ch 6, skip 2 spaces, sc 2, ch 6, skip 2 spaces, sc 2, ch 6 skip 2 spaces, sc 2. (this is mostly just eyeballing 2 spaces to get 3 button loops evenly) You can add the
Note: If your top doesn't fit at the back, you can also do a couple rows on sc to make it a bit longer.
You can also stop here and leave it as a top.

Going across the bottom.

R1: ch 1, sc in bottom loops across (24)
R2:ch 2 (counts as 1st dc) dc in 1st stitch, 2 dc in each sc across (48)
R3:ch 3, 2 tr in 1st stitch, 3 tr in each across (144) turn
R4: ch 1 sc across in back loops only, join with slip stitch to 1st sc making a round. (144)
R5: ch 3 do not turn, tr in each stitch across join with slip stitch (144)
R6: ch 1, sc in back loops around, join with slip stitch
Continue rounds 5 and 6 until desired length. Be careful not to lose stitches at the end of your rounds.
Bind Off.

At this point what you do is optional. I used pink contrasting crochet thread and added a little ruffle. This is why you did the back loops.
Pick a row, sc at the back in a front loop, ch 6, skip 3 loops, sc, around.
Slip into 1st chain loop, ch1, (sc, ch6 sc) in 1st loop, ch 6, (sc ch6, sc) in 2nd loop and continue around. Bind off.
Skip 2 rows of front loops, do the same.
At the bottom, sc around, ch1, sc, ch6, skip 3 stitch, sc, around bind off.

This can be done in all front loop row, only around the bottom, you can do 3 rows of lace, or just 1.

Now that your dress is finished, put on your doll and measure for bead placement at the back. Sew on beads, this makes the dress easy to put on and off and you can choose how tight it will be on the doll and if you want it tighter at the waist. Make sure you use beads small enough to fit in the loops, they don't have to fit perfect.

Hope this pattern is easy to follow. Ask if you have any questions.
