1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Blythe is going to go school! (with new outfit) on: July 10, 2006 02:20:26 PM
adorable, i second the pattern request. I just bought a pullip but don't get it until my birthday. I've been making doll clothes for the past few days, but not as lovely as yours!

I got "Wednesday Dress pattern" somewhere in web. It was dress pattern so I chopped off skirt part to make shirts.
Skirt pattern was basically free-drawing..^^...Measure Blythe's waist and hip and to make yoke and just play around with pleats until satisfied.

I got really hooked up making Blythe clothes. ^_^
So I made princess line blouse and red check mini skirt.

Another tartan mini skirt(this time a little bit longer ^^) with zipper detail.
Cute short tie for complete school girl look!

Okay.. so I saw this post days ago, and fell in absolute loooove with your doll, and decided I was going to look for one. And holy COW.. whoever got you that doll must reaaaaally love you!! They are sooo expensive!! Even on ebay!! I saw one missing legs that just ended at over 800 bucks!! I saw some little knock offs though that I might have to get.. because I am a cheapie. Anyway, you have totally inspired me here.. I need a perdy big eyed doll to make clothes for. That dress is gorgeous!!

 Okay, I am done rambling..

Have a great week!

haha, the doll you found in ebay is probably vintage kenner doll which was manufactured in 72's. That time kids got really scared because of this lovely big head, they stopped making. But late 90 to early 2000, this doll got popular again and one of japaness manufacture started making reproductions. Mine is one of them. It's not cheap (like barbie) but definitely a lot below 800$. ^^

Hope you can get your blythe, too. they are really photogenic! Smiley

That dress is adorable and really sets off her hair.  Did you make it from a pattern?  Was it hand-sewn?  So adorable.

I made up pattern..^^ so it's actually a bit bigger for her.
Most of time I used sewing machine but recently I found that hand sewing is much easier or faster for me. I probably do more hand sewing and used sewimg machine for hems.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Gift for 6 month old baby Leia! on: June 30, 2006 06:09:57 AM
Soo cute! Was it hard? How did you make the bottom go in if you get what i mean?
I love it Smiley

No, Pinkaholic. It was easy to sew. ^_^
About bottom hem, it had inner(? self lining?)skirt but shorter and not gathered
and I attached both innter and outer bottom hem together.
Because inner skirt had shorter hem, naturally hem of outer skirt rolled in.
Does it make sense to you?

That is adorable! I actually squee'd when I saw this, it's simply too cute for words!
By the way, that fabric is spectacular. Where did you get it?

I got it from Mood fabric in NYC.
It was expensive so I only got 1 yard.
Now I have my balloon skirt(already cut but not sew together yet),
baby Leia's present, and dress for my Blythe.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Gift for 6 month old baby Leia! - Baby Skirt on: June 29, 2006 09:23:40 PM
My friend had a baby daughter last January and she recently had 5 month-old birthday party(?).
I couldn't be there so I promised Leia(yah, that's her name)'s mom that I'm going to make something for her. so this is it!

this balloon skirt was coming back early this year. So I made baby version.
Frankly I had no idea how tall Leia is, so I just guess...
Hope it fit her great. ^_^

Little bow detail and I put label outside because Leia might not like it.

I got V-smashing Blythe as birthday present last year. Smiley
(well, it was my 31st birthday and I'm still playing with dolls. ^^)
I was busy doing stuff so I didn't make any new outfit for her
so she has been wearing Bratz clothing which is pretty small for her.

Finally, I made her new dress!

collar part was tricky to sew, but it turn out really pretty. Smiley
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I made dress and jacket for term garment! on: May 19, 2006 09:07:55 AM
I was taking class during weekend and it's finally over!
(5 hr of driving every Saturday....gas, toll...I don't want to think about it...T_T)

This is dress and and jacket inspired by Korean Traditional dress.
Fabric is really sheer, so sewing took extra time!
Anyway, I dont' think I can wear this because it is really see-through...^^

10  New York / New York: Central / Re: anybody in the 518??? on: May 08, 2006 11:49:59 PM
I'm in 518, too. Smiley
Schenectady county. I live there and I'm work in Niskayuna area.
I used to get fabric from Joann, but after I found Mood in NYC, I just have to be there once in a while! (so expensive I can't buy much but it's really good for your imagination.)
